The K Chronicles

Imagine the right-wing media machine if Palin were a Democrat.

The letters thread is now closed.

Ya Nailed it Keith

Any of the numerous lies and shit the republicans have pulled in this campaign would have rallied the republican noise machine with apoplectic tidings of doom and gloom with extended periods of shrieking talking heads gnashing their teeth and wringing their hands.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 09:02 PM

Wow...

...you were channeling Rush there. That was pitch-perfect, and scary.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 11:09 PM

As the man said, "You nailed it, Keith"

Right friggin' on, Brother Keef!

Imagine if the Palins were black.

Imagine if the Palins were black and had an unwed teenage daughter impregnated by a thuggish kid who said he enjoyed shooting things.

Anyone who thinks that racism is no longer a huge problem in this country should just ponder that for awhile -- and ponder the Repug's reaction to the white Palins' pregnant kid and her thuggish boyfriend.

Irony

According to liberals, no conservative is supposed to be anything like Sarah Palin. Maybe we can get Julia Roberts to play her in the movies.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 06:11 AM

Ummm

Have you been reading salon latey, Keith? You grabbed most of their headlines.

Other way around

There may be some humor in your point. But face it, the real and, ironically more serious humor is the other way around. If Palin was the democrat's nominee, the sexist bashing would neither be made nor tolerated. I'm glad to see the glass ceiling is being historically shattered by Palin even if it means that it will open the door for liberal women to attain to high office, and even though it demonstrates that we must examine the liberal side of America for remaing hidden and dark prejudices, and analyze the phenomon of hate and prejudice for what it really is and from whom it really originates. I can foresee a day when there will be a National Palin day -- a holiday celebrating the first women to reach the presidency-- even a Palin dollar bill. What a great day for true feminism!

Heh heh heh -- and the right wing just won't get it

The conservatives have an astonishing double standard, but are completely blind to _their_ moral relativism. I'm glad Keef is on the ball.

I was at the RNC (interviews and pics on my site) and saw how this plays out in Real Life (tm).

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 06:25 AM

I should have included these (If you think that I was exaggerating in my last post)

I mean, you think the other side would be obsessed with Palin minutia (if she were a Dem)? How about good 'ole Salon? The proof is below (and that list is not exhaustive). Salon is manic on their coverage of Palin. The real joke is their nit picking. Kieth, you just indicted your employer...

Today:

Sarah Palin's wasteful ways

Tuesday:

Sarah Palin's powerful "First Dude"

Monday:

The pastor who clashed with Palin

Sunday:

"Palin pandemonium" in Nevada

Other days:

"Hockey Moms for Truth"

Today in Palin

Palin quickies

Palin, like Rove before her, stayed off government e-mail servers

Wonder Woman on Sarah Palin

Alaska legislators sue to stop Troopergate investigation

Palin admits truth on Bridge to Nowhere

Palin vs. Gibson, the rematch

Palin flip-flops on global warming

Palin's choice = women's choice?

Poco

Way to go. That's a fantastic example of missing the point. Keep up the good work and let everyone know how to spot obtuseness, deliberate or otherwise.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 07:35 AM

So, you're saying that Keith

is criticizing the left? That's not what I am getting... Maybe you're not getting my point.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 07:55 AM

@THawk7

Are you kidding me? Are you freakin' kidding me?

Palin is not a blow for feminism. Palin is a blow to feminism.

Palin isn't paving the way for liberal female politicians to forward the cause of gender equality in politics. She's closing the door behind her by gleefully allowing herself to be the token airhead touting the anti-women policies of the party that gave us Ann Coulter.

The sexist bashing of a democrat wouldn't be tolerated? Where the hell have you been during Hillary Clinton's entire political career?

If you're not completely full of it, you're really out of your mind.

@ rott635

The sexist bashing of a democrat wouldn't be tolerated? Where the hell have you been during Hillary Clinton's entire political career?

It started long before that, unless you count being married to a politician as a political career. (I wouldn't, but I can see that a case could be made for it.)

So I guess what we can say, then

is it goes both ways. Yawn.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 09:08 AM

Did anyone notice?

That the pic on the initial link (which is part of the larger pic in panel three) looks like a giant ass dropping a couple of fresh turds. What a perfect analogy for right wing talk radio.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 10:31 AM

Finally!

Someone finally said it! Thank you thank you thank you!

If Palin were a Democrat

Oh my, but your chronicle is so very, very true. The right wingers speak out of both sides of their mouths constantly whenever it suits their needs. I imagine if they could come up with a couple of more mouth sides to speak out of, they would do that, too. In the old westerns I used to watch as a kid, they often had the Indian(s)say: "White eyes speak with forked tongue." Little did I know then that they meant right wingers and Republicans.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 01:27 PM

nitpick

In the panel about the kid, change "Abstinence" to "Sex-Ed". If you're going to make her a Dem - you gotta follow the rules. Otherwise why not say she's a Dem that wants to prolong the war in Iraq. Liiiiike the other Dems that voted for it.

Here's an idea for a strip - how about one on how BOTH parties suck ass? Or the entire political process - or corporate governess - voting is an illusion - the electoral college vs the popular vote. Take your pick.

@thawk7

Perhaps you have forgotten Geraldine Ferraro. She was the one who broke this glass ceiling that Palin is poking her pointy head through. How this is a blow for feminism is a mystery to this long time feminist. Palin is against reproductive freedom, which is a basic tenet of feminism. She is an Anita Bryant/Phyllis Schaffly styled quasi feminist - one who would have women in their place while she gets to be the one who escapes the drudgery of home by parroting some idiotic patriarchal party line in the service of the duplicitous far right. Palin's politics suck, pure and simple. She was a canny and cynical choice for McCain to make, and god help the United States if that team gets in power. And Keith Knight is on the nose with his parody of what the right would do with Palin were she a democrat. For a humorous look at that check out this Daily Show clip.
