The K Chronicles

Who the hell are all these green and purple folks white people are always talking about?

The letters thread is now closed.

Where did they go?

The purple ones were taken by the Purple People Eaters, starting back in the 50s, or are in hiding.

The green ones went back to Mars.

What shade of purple?

We had neighbors once who were a nice shade of lavender, and they were not bad. But the royal purple kind, however, you gotta watch them like a hawk; they'll steal anything that isn't nailed down.

But the green people, some of my best friends are green, though they prefer to be called "Chartreuse-Americans."

Is this a Babylon 5 reference?

Green!

Too Funny!

I've asked myself this question many times...

mitch hedberg...

Mitch Hedberg has the same joke! He draws the line at purple people too.

I got stabbed in the ass by someone with spots

As soon as I read the teaser on salon's front page...

I knew this would be another winner from the Mighty Keef.

Dude...anyone actually stupid enough to even attempt that line is sending a message, loud and clear. They probably don't even know it, but the message is sent.

They're most likely not young, having heard that silly chestnut in a different era--and for that we can be thankful...

'Nuff said.

Only "green and purple people" I know...

...is a bowling team in the Midwest. That's the color of their bowling shirts. All the other color combinations, especially the good ones, were already taken by all the other leagues.

Thank you

That cliche' has always annoyed me - thank you for making it hilarious.

Green-Purple

This trope has always annoyed me as well. I absolutely loved Keith's conspiratorially whispering about how "I know this ain't PC, but..." (the typical boilerplate that frequently precedes a bigoted remark). Keith manages to skewer both bigotry and pro forma anti-racism with one swoop. Nicely done.

Write your Congressman!

Are these purple and green folks legal? They insult my legal taupe/tangerine/turquoise ancestors by coming here and stealing my jobs and services! Soon us taupe/tangerine/turquoise people will be a minority in our own country!

Purple People

Doggone it. I wanted to make a purple people eater joke but somebody beat me to it.

Excellent!

Dude,

Great strip!!! I'm still laughing!

Salon: You really need to give this guy a raise. He's consistently one of the best things on your web site.

So funny!

You're the best, Keef! I love your strip so much! Keep up the great work.

Keef, you have some firing to do.

Heavens! The best part of my week is The K Chronicles. Keef, you are brilliant - but please fire your editor! This strip contains the second typo that I have found in as many weeks. What is going on?!

When the latex bodysuit comes off

Dick Cheney is pure green, baby. That man is pickle to the bone.... I never trusted those bastards. My sister wanted to date one once... I reminded her that green and pink makes grink and her kids would never live it down....

Uh, whats funny?

I don't thinks it's particularly unfunny, but I'm not sure what the point is supposed to be. That an expression that's meant to suggest someone doesn't care about skin color is actually proof of their inveterate racism? Doesn't Sly and the Family Stone have a song that goes "There is a blue one that doesnt like the green one for living with a fat one trying to be a skinny one"? Whats with black folks talking about blue and green people?

Just yesterday I heard the phrase used on the radio in a debate about Barry Bonds.

Strange coincidence.

All I can say is

WTF? I guess everyone gets tired of the real issues sooner or later.
