Great job, Keith. The use of the torn panel edge to convey the earth shattering impossibility of the bum rush-true artistry. And the absence of confining lines in the second to last panel suggesting the infinite possibilities open once the laws of reality are breached and the frightening danger of falling like Icarus, but into the oblivion of the page margin-truely great! It's why I read ya every month!
I was really moved by this strip and I don't even particularly like baseball. Signing on to Salon and reading one of your better strips is one of life's little victories for me.
. . . and today's comic is a classic. Keep 'em coming.
and I loved this cartoon.
Go, Keith!
Keith, you are awesome.
I'm well over 50, but I was just a little kid when Jackie was an active player. There are not so many people left who actually saw him play. Jackie was an aggressive base runner, always made the game exciting to watch. It was a style of play that we don't get to see so often nowadays.
Thanks Keith for giving us this wonderful remembrance and appreciation of Jackie Robinson.
The man stole home 23 times in his career. Amazing.
That is such a great cartoon.
Thanks for being alive and sharing with us.
Loved the breaking through the panel bit.
