Spot on!
Here's to the human mouth, the only thing in the universe known to outrace the ability to think! Exactly how deep was the hole you were burying yourself in, Keef? Was it cozy?
I really do feel for ya, pal. Hey, maybe you've should've said it just proves the British are hard to kill. That would've impressed her!

But there is a positive side to young motherhood!
Back when everybody lived close together young mothers got plenty of help from their still young mothers, who may have had younger siblings still underfoot. It wasn't like you had 17 year olds sitting alone with their babies in their apartments like now. It wasn't a sin to put your family first. Of course there was a lack of opportunity for women, but not everyone wants to be a professional.
Family and family ties are now considered so unimportant that desiring parenthood before age 30 is considered a regrettable error in judgement. A career is just so much more of a prize... So many kids of older parents don't know their grandparents as anything but ancient relics. If they are around at all. That is a loss.
Plus, are you going to give your toddler to a 72-year old (First generation 35 at birth of first child, second generation 35 at birth of first child) to babysit? I don't think so...
