I'm sure the trolls won't like it though

Finally!

I was waiting for this cartoon since Nov 3 2004 (check Dancing Bug archives).

Ruben, what took you so long?

:-)

Remember it! Love it!

But where are the feet on the Darwin fish?

...and we're in the mirror universe

since the lettering is "normal" in the mirror, our side must be reversed. :-)

Obama: The Yumand Yang

Talk about Yin and Yang? As a Senator or president,...Obama "really fits the BILL" Just as he felt accepted possibly as a caucasion last week, I felt accepted as a coloured person post election.

but just like everything else in this nation, or sometimes in life, the euphoria is already beginning to wane and the reality of the chore ahead is becoming clearer. Let's not blow our load on the possibility of change, and save some energy for the tough road of painful work ahead. We love to bathe in the good news, but whats going to happen when we are truly called upon to face some of the painful decisions we'll ultimately need to make to fix this broken nation?

sorry to be a downer, but the work/walk is more important than the talk.

YES

I had a feeling he'd do this.

Two words: You Wish.

I give President Obama one week before the White Guy Universe gets over the shock and starts fighting back. If you haven't been to any other forums, the poster Elephantman, the paid rep for the Republicans and the automobile executives, is back and firing up his defenses of lunatic conservatism.

It would take much more than one election turning down the worst President in American history - an obvious choice - for Americans to "wake up." There were about 27 percent of unreconstructed bigots who still voted for McCain/Palin, remember.

Right On

I think this is right. I think there is a general realization that the majority of Americans are more diverse, more accepting, and more thinking than we're usually told we are. There are too many white people who now identify as one minority or another. The minorities are now the majority.

I think it's also right that the Great WASP (White American Southern Protestant) isn't ready to accept its place as a minority and will probably retrench and fight even harder... but this time around I noticed the folks in my family who represent the WASP were, in fact, tired of fighting. There will always be a few left who will fight harder and louder to make up for those quietly deserting, but I think we've crossed the event horizon.

Thanks, but.....

Thanks for pointing this out - it's Right On, Soul Brother!

On the other hand, though White, my Blood Brother and I could 'Funky Soul Brother Handshake' to put the Commodores to Shame, circa 1976!!!!

LCS051

This is only the 2nd TTDB since the election, and if Ruben lives on the east coast, he would have had a scant 24 hours after the results were in to whip out a strip.

Assuming he was partying well into the wee hours of the 5th of November like most of us, I'm guessing he had already drawn last week's strip before Election Day.

been a long time

I remember the last strip with this theme!

Hey no fair

I'm African American. And I'm white.

Friday, November 14, 2008 05:11 AM

YES!!

All readers should go back to the cartoon Ruben did exactly four years ago, the morning after Bush was re-elected. Trust me, it'll give context as to why this one resonates even more than a casual viewing lets on.

Now if only...
