Something tells me Mr. Bolling is the father of at least one teenager. And speaking as the father of two, I'm compelled to say that while this week's strip isn't as wonderful as his last Nate the neocon foray, it is damn funny and accurate.
Although this Maltby looks like it was written from the point of view of a parent or outsider, some of the previous Maltby strips have shown insight that can only be gained from personal experience. My all time favorite is the one with the imaginary conversation with Thomas Jefferson: http://www.salon.com/comics/boll/2007/01/18/boll/
All the Louis Maltby's of the world are familiar with that conversation.
And it's fun to watch them explode when you hand a control freak actual control. Because that's the last thing they really want.
I wonder if Mr Bolling is familiar with the famous Eames' short film 'The Powers of Ten.' Seems like this strip is a direct homage. If you're not familiar with that film, it's well worth seeking out.
