[Read more letters about this article: Here]until January 2009. And why do you keep quoting the bastard anyway? Haven't those smart enough to get up every day and read at an 5th grade level (or listen to drag queen-look-alikes talking heads on MSNBC) figured out the fruit cake lied his ass off?
We know...we know...we know already. We have made no progress on defeating al-Qaida, or any of the other tribes we fight in Iraq, or bringing any kind of peace to the Middle East.
I, for one, am sick of the entire region, including perpetual whiner Israel ("we are defending ourselves..."), and wish they all would dry up and blow away.

Governments in Japan, China, Russia, and elswhere have been propping up so-called capitalistic ventures for decades now. How does anyone think Japan was able to flood us with cheap imports the first two years of Reagan's adminsitration (and triple our trade decifict!) without his support and Japan's government?
So, if it's dead. Then good. I'm glad it's dead.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]The people who burn down buildings, blow up government buildings, fly airplanes into buildings, send anthrax in the mail, burn up houses as a means of protest, keep women and children followers hostage while they shoot enforcement officers serving them with warrants, start forest fires, bomb clinics and kill doctors,are all terrorists, domestic and otherwise.
Tell me, what is the difference between exploding a university building and bombing a federal building? Or what is the difference between bombing a clinic and shooting law enforcement personnel on your doorstep delivering a warrant for your arrest (Waco)? The only difference is the cause.
Witnesses put her there. The jury heard all the evidence, I presume, including how those witnesses changed their initial stories. Then again, the majority ended up changing their stories for reduced time, didn't they? Why would these two witnesses put her there if she wasn't there? The jurors they believed she was there.

The media is a joke. No self-respecting person listens to the rantings and ravings of cable TV talking heads anymore; listens to what crap the White House puts out; or has paid attention to George W. Bush for the last 8 years.

IS ALL POLITICS SO DAMN FUNNY?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think not. Politics is a live or die proposition for too many people world-wide - from the pollution choking the air and rivers in China to how many months American service men and women will serve in Iraq.
I loved the Smothers Brothers poking fun at our American politics back in the 60's. And before them, there was a little gem, That Was The Week That Was. I, too, find some of the material conconcted by the Colbert, Stewart, and Maher writers funny at times. But what bothers me is that these comics - and they are comics - have become the norm instead of the exception. And when something becomes the norm in entertainment, it's already passe'.
And here's the other big difference: That Was The Week That Was had a message, a perspective. So did the Smothers Brothers. These guys don't have a message or offer a point of view (sorry, cynicism is not a political point of view. In the interest of fairness, they just rant about everybody and everything which means then that nothing is right and everything is wrong.
And that's what's wrong with Colbert, Stewart, and Maher. It matters not who is President or what political direction our country takes. They need a joke and a sarcastic comment in order to pay the bills.
