Why these mutilations?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]From my experience this practice originates from cultures where men view women as things or property. These cultures are also earmarked by male psuedo bravado, coupled with deep core feelings of inferiority in the males.
Men in these cultures fear strong women, they fear their minds, their strength, their sexuality, their independence. So the culturally bring them down a notch to remind them daily that they are lesser people. It is an act of vilification toward women.
Some cultures revered women's sexuality and power and paid homage to it in the form of goddesses. The monthly miracle of the womb synchronized to the moon...
This desecration of the beautiful female form is a ritual act of self hatred. No woman should be allowed to feel pleasure like a man.
If there is a reason to mutiliate...for me it just is one more note from the canaries in the coal mine.
I grew up in the 60's and 70's. I am not ashamed of my body. It is what it is. It is a worthy vessel to move about the world to learn sacred lessons...to be cast off until donning the next body. We are but garments and fabulously complex and strong and fragile. I live in San Diego....Many times I have been to NAKED massage oil parties with twenty couples-strangers-it was great! Healing! Not sexual but sensual. Playful and joyous. I wish these poor hurting souls who are shredding these most sacred places, to reaffirm every part of their bodies and to hold them sacred, to hug themselves, and not harm themselves anymore. geeegee southern california

I think the U Tube vid clip when Mitt was in the rustic diner and boasting how his state has great health care and that waitress challenged him by saying her monthly health premiums were $1,000. and her deductibles were $50, and that she could not take her kids to the doctors or afford medicines, and he just brushed her off, that was the turning point for me! Mitt is a uncompassionate, aggressive, phoney; another GOP robot, only scarier, because he belongs to a dangerous cult. Mormonism has a darker side that people should start delving into. I know, I researched and hung out with Mormons for ten years.
If we want another cunning, aggressive, slick GOP zombie to drive us further into the hole we are in, Mitt is your fella. Now. We have a lot of repair work to do as Americans, both at home and in the larger global setting, and we can start by pulling out our troops and using that unaudited out of control war budget to begin fixing our roads and schools and freeways and hospitals and health care.
Our borders are as porous as a sieve. Let's get smart fast, my fellow citizens. The GOP had their day and where in the heck are we now except across the board in a giant mess?
By the way, both my parents were war heroes and they have passed on, but I know they are spinning in their graves over the train wreck this counttry is in!
Dubbya has been like a drunken frat boy with Daddy's credit cards.....before we are through this war is going to cost two trillion dollars? Did you know that was Bin Laden's plan? It's on video tape where Bin Laden discusses drawing America into war in the Middle East to bankrupt us.
So, if we freaking knew that, why were our leaders not mindful of this fact?
Why did we veer off course in tracking down Bin Laden in the first place?
Don't give me that malarky about Iraq either. Iraq was Cheney's pet prroject and baby Bush wanted to show up his old man.
Mitt has no original ideas! He is just echoing the unimaginattive losers we have elected for the past seven years that have gotten America into this morass. Let us look past the image of this creepy male model come to life and notice the meanness, and lack of sibstance.

My boy friend is rich.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think your boy friend did not want to appear rich because maybe he did not want to attract a woman who was attracted to him for his money but to find someone to love him as he is.
I have been really rich in my life and it is difficult; there IS a separation because there are alot of people who will like you for your money, or treat you differently. I was the near victon of a famous con artist who bilked over 200 women out of their fortunes.
I dated this "psuedo-architect" for a year before he disappeared. I hired a private dectective to find out what happened to him.
He next turned up as the subject of America's Most Wanted or 20/20, along with ten of the women who were wiped out in my home town. It was a near miss for me. Thing is, he was an impeccably handsome and charming and charismatic predator.
I know several billionaires who do the same thing your boyfriend has done. Why not? Think of what I went through.
One of the couples who are billionaires is composed of a woman who is a dear friend who did not grow up with money. She has been my friend for 22 years. She is a sweet, compassionate, loving, warm, human being, and I never think of her in any other way than that I am blessed to have such a honorable person as a friend. What she has is beyond mere wealth.
My advice to you would be to relax and enjoy your life, love your husband, appreciate an enriched life and seek to give back to your community and to help those who are still in need. It is an opportunity to be in a position of service when you are blessed with largesse.
