Blockbuster vs Netflix

What do you think Blockbuster is going to do if it succeeds in putting Netflix out of business? Prices will go up, service will go down, and somehow they will start charging us astronomical late fees again. I live in the mountain so a Blockbuster Store is no where to be found, but I'd stick with Netflix anyway. Great selection, great service, great prices. And they have never put in sneaky late fees like Blockbuster did the first time they tried to go up against Netflix.

Unfortunately, both sides are doing it.

If you follow the letter threads and the blogs you do find that the vetriolic is coming from both camps. How unfortunate. We have two strong candidates left in the field and, while for me they are my second choice, I will happily back, work for, give money to either one when we finally get to the "real" campaign. If we want to get out of Iraq anytime soon, if we want to take the power out of the hands of the corporations and return it to the people, then we must win the White House and hold onto the House and Senate this November. That is the real goal, which I hope is shared by supporters of both Obama and Clinton. And no, neither candidate is perfect or all they would have us believe them to be, but far better either of these two than a return to the Big Business, anti-science, anti-choice party that the Republican Party has become.

Fight hard for your candidate but let's stick to the issues and forgo character assasination. Do you really want a Republican in the White House next year?

I too was an Edwards supporter, and I just voted for Obama on Super Tuesday mostly because I think he has the best chance of winning. That's not to say that Hillary can't, because I see a lot of ways of betting McCain (if he is the nominee). But we will all have to work together to do it. Either way Ms Clinton or Mr. Obama will have my complete support to rout the Republican machine. Either of them will be better for the country than any of the Republican candidates.

Tired of pundants

I'm so tired of pundints second guessing every decision. Do you think Obama should drop Joe now and take on Hilary? Too late even if it were a good idea. It would be so nice if the self-appointed experts would stick to analyzing the candidates various programs and projects, and, in context, their voting history. Now that's info I can use.

This kind of speculation, on both the left and right, is useless to helping this country decide who should be our next president. It's no better than the polls of some years ago that asked "Who do you think is going to win?" rather than "Who do you think should win?".

Well, she's right about one thing.

We, yes, you and I have created this victim out of an extremely weak candidate. If we don't lay off her family and stick to our strengths, ie THE ISSUES! we are going to hand the Republicans another 4 years in the White House. Wake up. We can win this if, and only if, we stick to the problems facing America and the fact that we can help fix them and the Republicans can only make them worse.

Losing sight of what's important.

Isn't it time for us to get back to the election of the PRESIDENT of the United State. Palin is a distraction from the real issues and strengths of the Democratic ticket. More of this kind of writing and we might as well just hand McCain the keys to the White House. WAKE UP! and get back on track. As long as we obsess on Palin we are letting the Right set the agenda and that will practically guarantee that Republicans will win this election. Yes, Palin has terrible positions, but it's much more important that John McCain does too, yet he is percieved by the public as a moderate. Let's focus people!

Time to get off Palin and back to the election

Yes, she's terrible, but she's a distraction from the real issue: John McCain will be terrible for the US. It is still the Presidential Election that's coming up, right? As long as we focus on Palin, we lose control of the agenda. We need to be talking about how bad McCain is and how much better the Democratic Ticket would be if what we want to do is win the White House. FOCUS PEOPLE!

I keep hoping that I'll learn something from this column...

I'd really like to have a better insight into why conservatives hold the views that they do. A column like this should be helpful in that regard, yet I've yet to read anything in it that isn't simple a re-hash of what you can get from Fox commentators every night of the week. The column is a great idea, the columnist is not. Find a conservative who has better insight into his own belief system and can be articulate about it.

New York Times crazy with puppy love!

Oh, get a life. Even super-powerful women should be allowed to show their soft side.
