We don't deserve you. Will you please run for Secretary of the United Nations or President of the European Union instead?

The difference between Lincoln and Obama is that Lincoln thought carefully about the issues of the day and after lengthy consideration determined some principles to based his government. What seems to you "slippery politician" moves on Lincoln's part was always based on the principle "Save the Union at all costs". He "he promulgated the Emancipation Proclamation as a war move" because he determined that was the best way of helping the Union at that point.

On Obama's case, what is the big principle?

Big government? Attain power at all costs? Change for the sake of change? Hope for the sake of Hope? Rev. Wright's dreams? That Germans like us? Being the Big Daddy for us that he never had?

Obama is the real slippery politician out of the corrupt environment of Chicago back rooms. A politician willing to say and do anything to attain and stay in power. On top of that, doing it while pretending to be beyond politics, pure as inocence itself.

Even if the whole Universe drinks the Kool-Aid, I will not partake.

Thank you for proposing a world without nuclear arms, please leave the American ones somewhere along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Please use the new FISA powers you supported to spy on that evil McCain and his supporters. Please get the new tax running where additional money from Americans will be raised to help the poor in Third World countries and when it's sent, the rich in those countries will intercept the aid to become richer.

To me, the best scenario is a Democrat congress and McCain. McCain has shown real bipartisanship. Obama has always followed the Democrat Party line. McCain will continue saying the taxes will not be rolled back but they're due to roll back anyways AND unless the Republicans win a majority the tax cuts are going to expire. Given McCain focus on eliminating earmarks, we would have a better shot at balancing the budget. Rather than having an extreme liberal such as Obama, an experienced Senator with a real record of bipartisanship is better at the helm. But what do I know maybe the Obam obsession will win and we will give the Democrats freedom to do whatever they want.

And in regard to some of the comments about botox and the rest:

I prefaced my comments saying that in America you can claim to be whatever you want to claim. If Barack wants to claim he's Irish, it will be accepted at face value. Hey, he probably has Irish ancestry for what I know.

I was discussing perceptions among muslims. And yes, there may be some that perceive him as muslim. Would you even admit to that?

I do have an issue with the way Obama has reacted to those "smears". Either he's ignorant of his own heritage or not being forthright.

I posted a comment on how one muslim still perceives Obama as muslim. He makes other statements like US is a dictatorship, etc. I'm not saying his view is valid on either aspect. I'm just showcasing an example of the perspective outside the US.

Obama doesn't even acknowledge there may be perspectives other than his. Only what is politically convenient for him. A ruthless politician succeeding in politics by pretending to renounce politics. Like the way he eliminated his oponents from the official ballot when he was running for the Illinois senate (disqualified signatures). He claims to be purer than politics while running the dirtiest of politics: The Chicago politics.
