there were lynchings in WV in 1980? How could I have missed that one?
I don't have access to local new broadcasts (satellite dish and I'm cheap-thank goodness for public radio and yahoo weather) and I have to say,I'm glad. I can not beleive this short of crap is being shown. I thought it had to be a paroday from Jon Stewart. ick. I'm in a Sinclair town, so I can't say I'm surprised, tho but it explains a lot.
I just happened to see the first Lucky Louie and loved it so now I watch it regularly. Of course, I like a lot of crap movies (I was heart broken when I found out the new Luc Besson did not have Vin Deisel in it-that would have probably become my new favorite film of all time). The episode where Kim attacks her mugger is fantastic; the fact that both spouses are able to find ways to forgive each other's idiocy is inspiring.
I just can't figure out why the LW didn't send this question to Dan Savage. It seems he would have been ableto give her practical advice rather than forcing her to read thru more than 100 responses.
my 2 cents: trim if you like (make it a party!) but shaving never works out in the long run and great goddess, have you ever had anything waxed??? why would anyone voluntarily subject herself that pain AND pay for it.
In both the men's and women's bathrooms. Typically, they're health or design mags, but sometimes, there will be the occasional "Bitch" or "National Review" or even better "the week".
While I unerstand the LW's consternation with the subject matter, I hope he will bring in his own views to share.
Especially Meade, Kansas. You know, where the B&B owner has been harassed and threated because he has a rainbow flag flying. What lovely traditional values. It's hard enough just being OHIO where the state is just shy of a theocracy.
This was facinating but also appalling. I voted in Columbus, so the training level you received explained why the poll workers at my precinct seemed no only to have only a marginal understanding of alphabetizing but to be mystified as to the new ID rules.
I was very confused early this season by the enmity shown by the other chefs (I almost wrote characters) towards Marcel. Betty, especially, seemed immature for a woman of her obviously advanced years. He's certainly the only chef this season to take any serious risks. I guess there's always a goat (but Tiffani was H-O-T) so I hope he comes out of this experience with a lot more confidence.
to have known anyone like the girls who became like the women on Real Housewives but I loooove this show. It's endlessly facinating to me! I am a working class shlub whose friends are mostly working class shlubs and while we may not spend our nights working for world peace (we do find the odd weekend to petition for issues or something) these women seem to have an existence so alien to me that I can not imagine having them to dinner. Since I live in an urban area and the desire for a few nicities of consumer culture, I do run into the mid-west version and this show has given me tremendous insight into the lives of the women I might see while I am shopping at williams sonoma. If I am forced to interact with them (those politicians do have fundraisers and non-profits to have board members)I can just think about what one of these women would do and it seems to fit. Thank the goddess because before RH, I was lost lost lost at these functions and going to a bar in the suburbs was an anthropological expedition. Thanks for giving me a context Orange County!
I think it's great that Apollo settled for Dee...I haven't liked her at all since she broke billy's heart. the least she can do is suffer. The marriage episode was cool in that Chief is shown to be way more of a man than Apollo.
I guess I am alone in really enjoying Baltar, tho; he is always my favorite part of any episode but Heather's comments in this review were funny.
I'd much rather have a candidate that will get the US out of Iraq and the government OUT of our bedrooms. Clinton's stances on the issues most near my heart have not and will not win me over. If she gets the nomination, I guess I'll go back to Nader and talk about President Brownback.
or someone who actually might possible represent me; regardless of whether or not s/he might actually get the chance to do so. The dems have abandoned me; I'm not asking that they choose someone with whom I agree on every issue but this woman should run as a Republican! I've had it with the way the political system works in the US; it's almost like those who homeschool or unschool for lack of better options for their children. I might just unvote next time.
While I loved the article, I was surprised there was no mention of Posca and his role in the administration of both Caesar and Antony. Many of the details necessary in running the empire rested with the slaves.
I don't know why I did it but I watched the clip of ANS. While it was not as bad as some documentaries (Invisible Children comes to mind) I've seen in terms of making my question the rightness of humans continuing to occupy space on this planet, it is a good case for a vote of turning the whole thing back over to the dolphins. The guy filming her is as despicable a specimen I've seen in some time but then I don't watch a lot of fox so perhaps this is how everyone behaves. what a slimeball. I'm going to go shower and pray.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
