"quotes are useful to support facts"

No quote proves a fact, therefore they are not useful in your proposed conjecture. Quotes are opinions, not pillars of reason or justice, unless you are a fool who can't think for him/herself. Any idiot can produce or fabricate a quote for manipulation, therefore any vain quotes and/or pathetic posturing from the past are lost upon me. Modern times call for modern measures, not antiquated blathering of ages gone past. Desperate grasps for meaning within this failed construct simply underscore your own failed logic: People in this country NEED TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES!!

Most people can't admit to themselves that they are just another animal...yes, you are no different from any other organism on this planet: Only fixed upon your own survival. Why do you think the urge to fuck or eat is the strongest desire, despite the failed oppression of the churches? Why not ask overweight Republicans who have sex scandals on a weekly basis? Why not ask the Catholic priest who has gone against nature by suppressing their sexuality to the point of molesting young boys?

Like any other organism on this planet, once it abuses the environment it depends upon, it dooms it's very existence like a disease destroying a host. To deny such is to deny the very basis of how life is balanced on our planet. To understand as much is to understand how important respecting our environment is the key to the future of mankind.

But, like I've said before, the weak minded sheep of religions, the bleating followers of fairy tails and folklore have yet to defend themselves against this lone Atheist who rightfully rails against their hypocrisy and lies: You are fucking cowards, all of you. You should be ashamed of yourselves for being so arrogant, stupid and gullible. I know you are afraid of me, and you should be. I don't walk among you as the brainwashed should and I am a threat to your fake, fragile, imagined reality. One by one, your fallacies will come to light. One by one, science will prove your lying books wrong. Person by person, your "faith" will grow weaker, till it is a footnote in history, filed under "How humans were too dumb to explain or accept what they didn't understand".

"Quotes can actually prove that someone held a given opinion though."

The quoters have missed my point entirely: Quotes can be reworded, taken out of context and flat out revised. They might be entirely fictional as well, as is the lunacy known as the Bible. I will not respect your quotes until you say something you thought on your own worth quoting.

@ sabatia: I would love to see you try and love to see you deal with me. You'll need a lot more Koolaid, that's for sure.

@ Publicola Re: Sabatia

I have many reasons for flaming the practice of quoting:

- The written word is easily revised to suit one's objective.

- This is not limited to written media by which almost anyone with the motivation can revise photos, video and spoken word recordings.

Where does this leave us? How accurate is our supposed history? Who do you believe and why? I would say that our modern society suffers from a massive misinformation latticework that resembles a common childhood game: The one where everyone sits in a circle and one person starts by whispering a sentence into the ear of the person on their right hand side. Each child takes a turn whispering in this fashion, quoting the person on their left until it goes full circle. By the time it gets back around to the start point, you have a entirely different quote. Big media fully employs this method with frightening precision. The Bible is this game played out over thousands of years.

The only downfall of Sabatia's hyper-Christian rant is that it lacks what makes a genius like Stephen Colbert so obviously sarcastic: Facial expressions and body language. Regardless, I enjoy satire and I don't object to joining in as well. I did post a list about my ideal Presidential candidate that you might want to read.

My aim is not to pick a fight with you over how useful quoting can or cannot be. It is to use any method available to urge or shock people into thinking for themselves instead of using massive amounts of quotes as mental crutches or training wheels

Original article: Are you going to hell?

@Taliesan

Actually, now that you've mentioned linguini I've gotten all confused and frustrated about the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Maybe he's really made out of fettucini? Crap. No wait... He's definitely made of spaghetti. If you search you tube for "Flying Spaghetti Monster spotted in Germany" then you will see I have solid proof. How dare you question my faith?! ALL HAIL THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER!!!!

Original article: Are you going to hell?

All of you are going to hell:

Because you don't follow the doctrine of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Don't say I didn't try to save you! When the rapture comes (VERY soon!!) and the true believers are transformed into ascending meatballs, all you sinners will be cascading down into the fiery pits of hell!!!

Voting for anyone...

...based on race or gender is the very essense of stupidity.

Did you know?

The world is flat and the sun revolves around the earth? Jesus told me so. He also told me not to worry about the heating of the planet because the rapture is coming soon...
