Unsatisfactory answers

As a techie who works with home and small business computer users, I get the question "what do I do with my old computer/monitor/printer/cellphone" a lot, but the answer remains the same - there is no good solid reliable recycler that handles everything and doesn't want to charge you for it. This article just repeated it. There are small local piecemeal efforts, but nothing state-wide, nothing national, nothing that covers rural areas.

It looks like there might be a misspelling in the credits - "Annie DiFranco"? should that be ani difranco?

Nice vid tho :-) Thanks!

Original article: Why gas is so expensive

Great post

Great post, very informative and scary. The graphic, however, with it's little measuring bars seems like it should communicate information more than just look pretty. There were actual numbers in the article that measured the labels on the picture, but the picture didn't represent the information in the article.

There's a lot to be learned from northcentral PA

Rebecca -

I'm sad that you were in northcentral Pennsylvania and didn't get to see the beauty of it, or the little nest of Obama supporters up in Tioga County, north of Williamsport on Rt. 15. My friend Shane Nickerson, quoted in the Elmira Star-Gazette's review of the VP candidates' speeches http://www.stargazette.com/article/20081031/NEWS01/810310333 , has been working hard to make Tioga County and especially Blossburg a little bit purple. In less than six months, he grew Democratic registrations from 26 percent to 32 percent overall. He owns a commercial and industrial roofing company and his wife Jill, a borough council member, owns a growing preschool and daycare business. They both worry about not being able to provide health care to their employees.
