nakedness.....

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I don't know why but for some reason this very vivid memory came to me: Grammy and Papa would care for us a week here and there between the ages of 1 and 12 years old. I remember grammy was naked when she would get dressed or while taking a bath and being normal granddaughters we would follow her everywhere while she got ready and we got ready with her. And I remember Papa coming home from work and he would always take a shower and walk from the bathroom to his bedroom in his tighty whiteys reeking of polo cologne. This is a very tender memory, and yes Papa was in his undergarments, but Grammy was very definitely naked, and we saw her large pendulous boobies and her roll of abdominal fat. It didn't bother us one bit, that was Grammy. She was a real living breathing older woman who we loved dearly. And we really paid no mind to Papa in his tighty whiteys, why make a big deal out of nothing? There was definitely nothing sexual going on between any of us. I don't feel warped or jaded.
I do admit I think it would have been inappropriate to see Papa naked. But I think nothing wrong for mothers, daughters, sisters, grammas and granddaughters to be naked around eachother. The same with sons and dads and etc... It just says hey we are all the same here, and your body is normal and my body is normal and look we have the same freckles!

[Read more letters about this article: Here]It just really shocks me and not in a bad way, I guess it just never occurred to me, that even women would feel uncomfortable seeing there own mothers naked? But could that be because their parents could afford such modesty. Some nakedness was quite necessary in our household with one bathroom and a working mother. And I know in my grandparents house where there were 4 children, married parents, and only one bathroom, the boys got ready with the boys and the girls with the girls.
How funny that the wasps would have such a heart attack at seeing there own mums naked. It kinda reeks of snobbery. And to think there are families around each other eating, breathing, nursing, peeing and even pooping! Well that is just ridiculously crass! Ahh the lower class....

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I saw the commercial for the rose petal cottage and shuddered. I also thought about the whole husbands aren't helpless commentary that happened on here. and I am going to reiterate, my husband isn't helpless. He helps a lot and picks up around the house, he isn't very thorough about the laundry, maybe he could have benefited from this cottage with it's washer and dryer. And as I learned this weekend I would have benefited from a play rototiller.
I did rototill the backyard, it sucked, I wasn't very good at it and my arms jiggled unattractively, but I did it. I never was encouraged to do yard work and I am slowly getting enough confidence to take on some "manly" chores. I would have benefited from a play rototiller and not just the popcorn vacuum rolly thing.
I also have noticed that Boy's toys do a lot more cool stuff and have a lot of lights and electrical components to them. They roll, they light up, they talk to you, they play music. As opposed to girl's toys which are priced the same but just imitate "wifely" life. Like faux makeup kits with a shiny plastic mirror and mini groceries and carts. They don't light up, they don't talk , they are just dull plastic crap that costs the exact same as the cool boy stuff.
I won't buy this crap for my kids unless they paint the washer and dryer chrome and call it Both Pals Cottage.

I loathe Christmas and birthdays and all the other days that the children generally amass crap from relatives who won't just buy them a damn book, or a nice sweater. How many times do I have to tell those people don't buy the kids toys with 20 parts because they all get lost and I end up stepping bare foot onto a pretend dog house at ten o'clock at night. And then there's the guilt. Shouldn't the kids have a bunch of degrading, chewed up, dirty, plastic shit? Am I depriving them? Or is the front yard with the chalk and a couple of bikes and even the rocks to throw at each other enough for them?

Uhhhh, I would go with that being malicious punishment. Wow that's justice for ya. As far as peoples outlook on are Private parts go, I guess they aren't so private.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]There is something about obsessively controlling a daughters (or Sons) sexuality that does smack of perversion (Though I fail to see how child rape could be considered sexuality). It's just disgusting to not treat your daughter (or son) and her body with dignity and respect as a sacred entity apart from utter parental control. I don't understand how this could not be considered malicious punishment, it is so disgusting I want to puke up my lunch just thinking about it.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I disagree with not sending her to jail. Up till now I was pretty sure you weren't allowed to mutilate a child's labia. I find that so disturbing. But if we said mom should go to an institution that would set a precedent that all pedophiles should go to institutions and not prison as well.
