  • Garbage article

[Read the article: Pit bulls are innocent]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The author sounds like the oil company sponsored 'experts' writing that Global warming is a scam.

Look at all the cases of Pitbull attacks over the years.

    Pit balls are genetically aggressive.

Current owners need to have a very careful watch on them and, while we certainly must be humane and nice to the ones alive now, the numbers of the breed should carefully be decreased.

And Michael Vick deserves at least 18 months in jail and to be banned for the NFL for 5 years!

[Read the article: This Modern World]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    ...is classic!

But the Dems are stupid...Edwards in 04 would have won.

  • Rove learned from the CCP and the CCCP

[Read the article: The poisonous rhetorical legacy of Karl Rove]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The words and concerns of the "Leader" are the words and concerns of the nation.

    Typical stuff.

Why can't the mainstream media yet realize what Rove was up to??

  • Drudge is going after Edwards

[Read the article: Are Democrats really so lame?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Look at that site...almost every day he smears Edwards. Why? Hmmm.

No way Kerry was going to win in 04, even if he ran against Bob or Liz Dole!

Dems gravitate towards candidates that just don't reach out to enough 'normal' people.

You go with Edwards and Obama with a centrist message: you win.

Or Gore, but with a non-traitorous VP candidate this time (anybody but Lieberman).

Hilary and Bill better be all that the Right wing thinks they are in 08. Or she's going to be Romney'd (oh, he's so nice compared to that terrible woman!)

Hillary (that woman) or Obama (no experience) are likely failed candidates unless the Clinton machine exists in real life as the Right thinks it does.

  • Bill Clinton 1992

[Read the article: John Edwards turns on his fellow Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Billy was bashed over and over on policy.

I remember him being yelled at by Jerry Brown on Donahue.

It honed Billy up and readied him for the general election...and also prompted him to pick Al Gore as his running mate for HELP.

Keep it up John...head of the DOJ in 2009!

  • Ken Melhman

And make a couple of decent flicks (Solaris/Good German)

    Hollywood is a JOKE.

  • ??

    [Read the article: Invasion Greenspan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Sure, if Greenspan started talking about the war for oil a few years ago...that would have worked out well :-))

Why is Leonard still allowed to write for salon? Shouldn't he have his own little unread blog somewhere?

  • Blah

[Read the article: Lumber, housing, and the high-flying loonie]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Leonard,

Take your pills. The current mess will be fixed in a year or so. Life goes on. The sky is not falling.

  • LEONARD IS WRONG!

[Read the article: Typhoon Wipha heads for Shanghai]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Stupid comment.

Has Lenard ever lived in Shanghai? Likely not.

The only thing that could hit Shanghai is a tsunami like what happened to LOS (Thailand) in 2004.

Try this one Lenard: "What would an asteroid like the one that hit siberal 100 years ago do to New York?"

  • Reality

[Read the article: Lumber, housing, and the high-flying loonie]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The reality of the situation is that the "loonie" is not going "up".....it's that the US greenback is in the toilet.

  • We saw the true Kerry

[Read the article: Kerry responds to Taser incident]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Kerry is a heartless stiff.

His loss is was no loss.

  • uh um

[Read the article: The condition of the working class in Second Life]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"But somewhere there is a budding labor economist who is going to make his or her career with a dissertation on this topic, and I can't wait to read it."

And bloggers filling their daily word quota with the same nonsense.

  • Living there

[Read the article: Typhoon Wipha heads for Shanghai]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Shanghai regularly gets huge and nasty floods.

And the people brush it off without much care...huge winds and great rain make for fun nights of ma jong and bai jiu.

How? A sense of comradeship, well built (cement not wood) houses and apartments, lots of rice and other foods stored up in the average fangzi and a history of (man-made) disasters because their 'city-state' is in China.

    The Katrina comparison is silly...

The only thing that could wipe out Shanghai is a tsunami...as that was purely nature destroying lives while Katrina was nature plus some rotten 'human nature.' Get it?

Many NHL fans could care less about college football.

  • $$

[Read the article: Is Saudi Arabia afraid of the dollar?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

China is very happy to see the US$ drop...as they can then legitimize lowering the Yuan in lock-step and undercut the Japanese, etc.

Saudi needs to continue to pay for 'protection.'

  • Yes

[Read the article: Win or lose, the UAW is doomed]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

(Finally) A very good post, Andrew.

People have short memories. Remember not that long ago when American industry was kicking butt, there was no deficit, etc.

Now the Cons need another scape-goat.

  • He's 'real'

[Read the article: What happened to Fighting Rudy?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Rudy's a real person.

    Not just a packaged politician.

    And he's bright.

    Deal with it.

  • Fox news

    [Read the article: Perino watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Because she looks like a Fox news anchorwoman...so they hired her.

  • Get off your couch

[Read the article: Apple and China: A one-stop solution]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Apple has had stores in China for years.

Are they 'official' Apple shops? Perhaps not, as they would have to get certain licenses, partnership deals, etc. However, they are Apple shops and Apple supplies them and supports them as if they were truly official Apple Shops.

They are just "under the radar" of lazy US based bloggers and other media who view everything through a foggy US perspective and don't know much about the countries that intrigue them and that, unfortunately, they like to write about.

[Read the article: Apple and China: A one-stop solution]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Also , presumably some of the technology is based in America so those licenses , though held dear also make money.

    -- mmckinl

    _________________________________________________________

Actually, the expensive licenses are to set up shop in China and controlled by Chinese authorities.

US companies are falling over themselves to get in to that market...including doing things under the radar.

  • What has he done?

[Read the article: Pam Spaulding for Glenn Greenwald: Obama zapped by the third rail of black homophobia]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What exactly has Obama done to be so popular?

    Nothing.

But he's a media and Oprah darling.

But the masses will never vote for someone with his shallow record.

  • Blind jingoistic media

[Read the article: Cry "fire" and let loose the dogs of climate change!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Only Drudge is telling the REAL story (behind all these stories of the enviromnent and 'heroism').

    The real story is ARSON.

  • Solution

[Read the article: From China to the housing bust: Connecting the dollar dots]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The only real problem with the US economy is the giant sucking sound coming from iraq.

Since that likely won't change soon, the solution to US problems is simple: get the Chinese to let their currency float and have a REAL value!

  • Scottish?
