Hi Joan-
I liked your video for the most part-- you were much less biased for Hillary, though you did not acknowledge that Terry McAuliffe quite inappropriately introduced her as "the next President of the United States"!? (I think he had too much Kool Aid!)
In any event, it is a done deal, and I think Hillary will do the right thing--which is to endorse Barack and offer to do whatever he asks. It is not Hillary now, but her supporters, who are making mischief! I do believe that after the congressional "intervention," she has cooled down, and understands what she needs to do--though I can imagine how disappointed and sad she must feel after losing such a close race!
I think, in truth, we all need to "do the right thing" and put this primary race behind us. Barack Obama needs all of the love and support we can give him to face up to the Republican attack machine--though I feel quite sure he will prevail in November. Our country is sooooo ready for generational change, and I for one (at age 68) am ready to pass the torch! I wish Hillary Clinton well, and I hope if she chooses to stay in the Senate that she takes charge of passing Universal Health Care--and presses Barack to change his plan (to mandate coverage for all, a much better idea)! What I really would like to have happen, however, is for Obama to appoint her to the first opening on the Supreme Court! She would be excellent, and I would dearly love to watch her "kick ass" with Clarence Thomas, Antonin Scalia and the guyz!!! Plus, she would be out from under the influence of Bill Clinton--and that would be wonderful for her and for all of us!

So, Rebecca, you are not quite sure why--but you finally did pull that lever in the voting booth for Hillary Clinton. I had the exact opposite experience, although mine was a vote-by-mail. I looked at the names on the ballot, and as I darkened the circle next to Barack Obama's name, I realized that I just could not vote for Hillary--much as I wished to vote for a woman. It was only later that I realized why: I would not really have been voting for a woman, Hillary Clinton! I would have been voting for Mark Penn and Bill Clinton--her two most influential managers, both men who seem to have a need to unconsciously humiliate her! She has followed their strategy all throughout the campaign, and their tone has been both false and irritating! I did not realize the full impact of this until I saw Hillary's speech endorsing Barack Obama on Saturday--and realized that in her loss, she had been set free! Free of these emotionally destructive men who gave her the "messages" she agreed to use in her campaign. It was really their messages, and it did not work for her! The speech she gave Saturday was HERS, and it did work! I am grateful that one time in this campaign I got to see the real woman talking--saying what she really thought and felt. It was gracious and touching!
Meanwhile, I am joining with the millions of other women (and men) to go to work for Barack Obama. I think he is the real deal, and we need him to lead our country starting now! We truly are going to pass the torch to the next generation, and I say: it is about time!!!!!
Verrry cute!!!! It is clear that you think Hillary Clinton is the better candidate, and your snotty essay makes that very clear. In fact, you make just about as many passive-aggressive comments about Barack Obama as she and her "surrogates" did during the primary campaign! Why don't you just "bite the bullet," so to speak, and come right out with it. I dislike the innuendo and insinuation!
Also, you should know that there are many, many Democrats (many of us older women) who do not have big doubts about Obama. In fact, we are thrilled to have a person of his caliber as our nominee! I do not think in my lifetime (I am 68 years old) we have had a more intelligent, visionary candidate with such good judgement and common sense! Now put that in your smoke and pipe it!
Oh geez!!!!!!!! I just detest the ignorance of the naive masses!!! Why is it that our citizenry is so malleable? And unable to think critically? Do not say it is because we watch too much TV. I think we are just plain arrogant and lazy in our capacity to question and wonder! (Hmmm....I guess that is related to watching too much TV!) And what is the "reward" when we finally do see that the "Emperor has no clothes?"
Despair and fantasies of moving to New Zealand!!
I am a staunch Obama supporter, so I am sad to say that he has flunked bigtime this test of judgement--supporting the FISA "compromise!" I am disappointed! I hope this bad move was because Obama did not think through the FISA issue in his usual thorough and thoughful manner, but felt pushed to make a "political" statement.
Please, Barack, do NOT do something so obviously stupid again. You are better than this, and you will lose the enthusiasm you have garnered in so many of us if you make any more terrible "boo-boos" like this one!!!
P.S. It is not too late to change your mind, and say "having thought more deeply about this................"
Yup.........this is the Democratic congressional delegation and Barack Obama giving into Bush fearmongering--for FEAR of possibly losing a couple of swing states! This is not what we need to be doing. Fear should not rule the Democratic Party! And all of us need to keep reminding them to stand up--not lie down in the path of the Big Black Cars!!!! Keep jamming the switchboards!!!!!
