Dear Anonymous,

When 9/11 truth rears its ugly head, tempers flare. Paul Dirks is left with ad hominem attacks, as there is no scientific argument to support the 'official' conspiracy theory.

Ondelette is left with making bare faced inaccurate statements, such as there was no internal support for the WTC 1, and 2 buildings. Anyone who has studied the pictures of the WTC centre collapse has seen pictures of the 47 massive steel central columns in each of WTC 1 and 2. To suggest that they were not there is simply to quote the 9/11 Commission report, which was a complete whitewash.

You should have sympathy for these folks who do not wish to have their wourldview disturbed. They are not ready to for consquences of what would follow...

Mr. Greenwald,

Is it not strange how all things lead back to 9/11? The bogey man of our time is Islamofascism, a direct result of 19 crazed Arabs attacking NY City, etc. on September 11, 2001. In the cold war era, the bogey man was the Communist Threat from The Soviet Union, and of course there have been successive external enemies over the years.

The importance of verifying what happened on 9/11 is that we need to know whether or not the threat from these Islamofascists (who hate our freedoms) is real.

I challenge any of your readers to look at the evidence presented by Richard Gage (architect) at www.ae911truth.org, and then come back to this blog, and with a straight face tell the world that there is insufficeint evidence to suggest a further independent inquiry into 9/11. That is all that the 9/11 truth movement wants.

For many people (recent Zogby poll), the evidence is clear. The Islamofascists have been framed. The official story has so many holes in it that you could fly a 757 through them.

The MSM continues to avoid the real story. The public has been lied to about 9/11, and only the truth will lead to an end to the imperialistic and dictatorial aspirations of those in power.

Enjoy your column, as always.

@ Farnsworth

GG has the right idea, and the only one in the long run that will help to mobilize the masses. Education. It will perhaps lead to actions like those in Myanmar, where the monks are taking on the Junta. They will eventually overcome.

At this point in time, it appears that westerners are too comfortable, lazy, and immobilised by inertia to do anything to fix 'the system', but make them uncomfortable enough, and they will revolt. The key to starting the process is education, and GG is one of the leading lights, helping people to get away from the 500 channel universe, and the endless distractions of modern life.

The old mantra still holds. Think global, act local. Educate, agitate, and resist. 'The machine' needs recruits to fight and die to continue its inexorable pursuit of wealth and power. Educate a potential recruit, convince them why they shouldn't join up to volunteer for the slaughter. That is the only way to stop those in power from their continued domination. Educate the masses, and like Ghandi, we will throw off the shackles of bondage...

Mr. Greenwald,

I haven't read all the comments on your post, so please forgive me if this point has already been raised.

When will you look at the origins of the threat of Islamofascism to America? It is clear to most that it was the events of 9/11. You seem to be suggesting that the threat is overblown. Could it be because Islamofascists aren't actually the culprits behind those terrible events?

You are a well read commentator. I would find it hard to believe that you are not aware of the 9/11 Truth Movement, and the significant evidence that there were other forces responsible for the events of that tragic day. Many respected patriots have expressed their own disbelief in the official story. You can find their comments at www.patriots question911.com

It would serve your audience well to enlighten them, as it is impossible to shed light on this irrational fear of Islam and Muslims without addressing it.

Sincerely,

Mr. Greenwald,

Naomi Klein has recently released her blockbuster, The Shock Doctrine. It is a well foot-noted and resourced description of the grand goals of the elite in power, and their modus operandi.

Her premise is that the goal of all these wars and suffering is to impose a specific set of arbitrary economic principles, those being complete free-market capitalism. The method is to shock the people into accepting these reforms, using catastrophic natural or man-made disasters as the catalyst or trigger. Those people who resist such changes or block those economic goals are eliminated, and society is remade.

Ann Coulter summed it up nicely, recently, when she referred to soccer moms wanting free health care and education for their kids. She pines for the elimination of the vote for women, as they tend to vote democrat. Affordable education and health care for all are anaethema to the free market.

Colbert's recent take was that we should immunise the kids now, (by not giving them health care) so that they would not have unrealistic expectations in the future, for example, having food.

The beltway elite are uninterested in their fellow humans, and should not be leading anyone. The only way the USA will start to be a model for anyone else in the world is if both the democrats and the republicans are shunned, and a new political system is born that actually cares about people. 'We The People' need to reclaim their lives before it is too late, and they are doomed to generations of slavery...
