Mr. Greenwald,

Your conclusion, that we are ruled by people who would be Kings, from Versailles on the Potomac, is the stongest reason that Bush must be impeached.

Bush's list of crimes is extensive. One can argue that many other countries engage in torture, spying on their citizens, and illegal detention. The difference in Bush's case is that we in the Western world gave up the idea that the monarchy would be able to impose its will on the people, and that the King would be above the law. When King John signed the Magna Carta in 1215 at Runnymeade, civilization took a giant step towards making all men equal. Bush has reversed almost 800 years of histroy, and progress.

If Bush is not impeached, the next fearless leader will have the powers of a monarch. How many of us want to be subject to the whims of one man in charge of the nation?

For the sake of humanity, and the advancement of society, Impeach Bush. Do it now!

It's no surprise.

Operation Mocking Bird. Intelligence agents placed into the media to get out their message. Facts are not important. The message and public manipulation are the goals. When you control the organs of the press, you control the message.

The 'internets' has caused a revolution. The genie is out of the bottle. The only way it will be replaced is through force. Anyone wonder why Bush has eliminated Posse Comitatus, and is now stationing the military on American soil? Is he expecting a whole lot of immigrants to come to the land of the free and the home of the brave, or is he expecting a revolt of the masses who are losing their homes?

Mr. Greenwald,

You are a lawyer. What does it take to get someone to prosecute Dick Cheney, now that he has admitted to being a party to the commission of War Crimes?

Mr. Greenwald,

Apologies if this is posted twice.

You are a lawyer. What will it take for someone to now prosecute Dick Cheney for war crimes, now that he has admitted his role in breaching the Geneva Conventions, and being a party to Torture?

Mr. Greenwald,

Forgive me if I have missed your response elsewhere. Many of your avid readers are interested in your legal opinion about how to activate the mechanism to actually prosecute Bush and Cheney, as well as his coterie of top officials who were complicit in the commission of War Crimes.

As a lawyer, what do you suggest?

Mr. Greenwald,

There are only two areas in which hypocrisy and outright lying seem to know no bounds, media and poitics. Operation Mocking bird still hard at work. In the land of a democracy, the masses must be controlled by those old Straussian techniques of mass propaganda, religion, drugs, and the false reality pedalled by the mainstream media.

By the way, Merry Christmas to you and all your readers!

Mr. Greenwald,

As always, another well written incisive column. The larger point that comes across to me is one about democracy.

When 7 out of 10 people disagree with the policy of the government, can you really call it a democracy?

Happy New Year to all!

Mr. Greenwald,

We need someone who shoots from the hip, and speasks the truth, in government. When are you going to run for office...?

When the media no longer does the job of policing the political classes, and the political classes no longer represent the massses, you no longer have democracy. I still hold out optimism that the people can restore their countries, but it will take a massive public passive resistance movement for things to take effect. All the unemployment that is coming our way will give people a lot more free time to get engaged in actually finding out how the system works(or doesn't). There is always a silver lining.

Off topic, a new book recommendation, JFK and the Unspeakable. Clearly paints the backdrop for why JFK was killed, and identifies Oswald as the patsy that he was. The 'internets' sure help to spread the truth about false-flag ops. Thanks Al, for the invention.

Mr. Greenwald,

'It's the logic that leads Al Qaeda to fly civilian-filled airplanes into civilian-filled office buildings.'

This is off topic to this thread, but when I saw this in your previous column, I felt the need to comment. By making this statement, you are helping to perpetuate the myth that the events of 911 were dictated by Al-Quaeda and Osama Bin Laden. Since there is no evidence that you have done your own research on this topic, you should not assume that since it is 'conventional thought', it is correct.

Even superficial research shows that the official story can not be true. The official explanation of the collpase of WTC 7 does not stand up to scientific scrutiny, nor does it fit with known theories of physics.

You are a logical fellow, and a good writer, and you rarely assume anything. Don't assume that 911 was perpetrated by Al-Queda. If you have evidence, lets see it and have a real discussion. Otherwise, use a different analogy.

Original article: America then and now

Mr. Greenwald,

Bush is simply a man. He is not above the law, and he is not the law. He must be impeached if we are not to lose our system of democracy. The two only future alternatives will be monarchy, or anarchy.

Mr. Greenwald,

What can be said? The elite control the press, and they therefore control the thoughts of the masses. The logic that to disagree with Israeli foreign policy means that you are an anti-smite is never questioned. The world is in a very sorry state when a people who had an ethnic cleansing committed against them can now justify their own cleansing of others.

Surely this is not what Jesus meant by turning the other cheek?
