I stand corrected. Commission of perjury would be lying under oath, and if I am not mistaken Bush did not want to be put under oath. I guess you can then lie, and it isn't perjury. You haven't made a convincing arguement against him committing treason, though.

Has he not contravened the Geneva Conventions and committed the most serious of War Crimes, the initiation of a war of aggression againt an adversary that was not in any way threatening the United States? If that is not a high crime, then it is hard to imagine what is.

If I recall correctly, it was the 9/11 testimony during which Bush would not be deposed under oath. Is there another reason not to testify under oath, except to lie and avoid perjury charges later? If so, please advise oh wise master.

What is 'practical' is for the Congress is to represent the will of the people. A majority of the people want Cheney impeached. The last accurate poll suggested 45 % want Bush impeached vs 46% who did not.

You count your chickens before they are hatched. It is as though you would decide whether or not to attempt a prosecution of a murderer only if you thought the judge would convict.

If the MSM is forced to cover impeachment hearings, constituents will force their representatives to vote for it. The crimes of Bush and his entourage are so extensive that the Congress and Senate could not retain their dignity let alone their jobs if they did not vote to impeach.

Barrie Zwicker has written extensively on the topic of media manipulation in his explopsive book Towers of Deception. He makes the point that most sychophantic journalists do not start out that way. They may be more idealistic, and have ideas about telling the truth, but those ideas are quickly spoiled when their editors refuse to publish actual news. The reporter becomes self-censoring, and eventually comes to believe that they are making their own choice when they choose to write about Obama's bowling score, and not about Kucinich's 35 Articles of Impeachment.

After all, what is more important, bowling or Impeachment? Impeachment will never happen because Nancy Pelosi says it is 'off the table'. And we all know that she is one of the most important people in government, right? Is it reporters who are failing to report, or editors and owners(war profiteers) who are failing to publish? I am not experienced in the law. My own feeling, though, is that this is the most important question to arise in US history for the past number of decades.

If such clearly documented crimes by the executive branch can go unpunished by the people's Congress does this not effectively eliminate the co-equal branches of government, and lead to an essential dictatorship?

The Supremes have just confirmed one of Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment. The Military Commissions Act was unconstitutional. Is stripping people of the right of Habeas Corpus not a high crime, given that it is such a basic right of the people?

It is clear that many people who comment here are very well read. I find it odd that so few of them consider that the election results for 2008 will not be engineered to have a specific outcome. It does not take much research to suggest that the democratic election process in the US does not work, and that your elections are rigged.

Those in power maintain it by whatever means necessary. It is clear that many in Congress and the Senate are complicit, and that that is why there is no impeachment. Looking at your broken system, it is hard to know where to start in how to fix it.

Catastrophic events are occurring that may eventually lead to action(oil and food prices, mortgage collapse). As my wife has pointed out to me, no one is ever willing to change unless they are really uncomfortable. Well, Bush can be thanked for making everyone very uncomfortable.
