It is impossible not to point out that the 'liberal media' is uninterested in probing the depths of the 9/11 contoversy also.
No mainstream reviews of any of the numerous books critiquing 'The Oficial Story', and no deep questions about why Bush and Cheny were questioned together by the 9/11 Commission, not under oath.
Is there any reason to be questioned not under oath, except to avoid charges of perjury and then time in jail?
The media is uninteretsed in Norman Mineta's 9/11 Commission testimony, also.
9/11 will sink this regime. When the people are generally aware that Bush and co. arranged for 9/11 to occur, they will be lucky to get off with only jail time. Cheers.
Democracy in the United States appears to be becoming a laughingstock.
You have documented crimes committed that are unpunished, and you have those who have committed the crimes calling for other countries to be more democratic and to respect the rule of law.
The era of US hegemony is over. When you have lost the respect of the people you can no longer govern. It is simply a matter of time for the people to dispense with their current leaders, and start off again with a clean slate.
The entire Bush administartion will go down in history with ignominy. It is clear that there must be something unusual about their collective mental state that they can lie with such disregard, and no empathy whatsoever. The people do have the power to bring about change. The corrupt Congress is where people need to start, as that is their representation. Perhaps then the Administration could finally be held to account.
Cindy Sheehan, and others such as Cynthia McKinney need our support. There are some patriots out there. Support them!
has it right. Electing a new president will not change anyhting, as the executive will still have near dictatorial powers. The likelihood of Obama giving up such powers would be remote.
Bush and Cheney need to be impeached. The rule-of-law needs to be re-established so that future leaders understand that they too must adhere to those basic standards.
Without impeachment, the Congress, the Constitution, and the will of the people are dead.
Support Kucinich and his 35 articles of impeachment! There is nothing more important than to prosecute those who have committed so many crimes.
Clinton was impeached for perjury. It is pretty plain that Bush is also a perjurer. Pelosi needs to put impeachment on the table, or get out of the way so that some patriot can make it happen. The world is waiting. Do they have to start another illegal war with Iran for the people to act?
Your dismissal of the importance of Kucinich's 35 Articles of Impeachment is unfortunate. It merely illustrates the fact that you do not think that the founding document of your country, The American Constituion , is important. It shows that you do not feel that it is important to live in a country ruled by laws rather than men.
There is nothing more important at this time in American hiostory than to return the rule-of-law to the forefront, and that can only be done by impeaching Bush and Cheney. Evrything else is a side show and a distraction. If people do not live equally under the law, then your counrty, your Constituion, your democracy, is gone.
George Bush is advancing a return to the Dark Ages, when the King could lock up people and throw away the key. Unless we all deny him the right to do so, we will all be subject to his imperial dictates.
We should not rest til they are impeached. Nothing else matters til that is accomplished. This issue is too important to be ignored. You are doing a great disservice to your readers, and to society by your approach. There are enough comments saying the same thing. Get with the program. Support Impeachment and Dennis Kucinich!
Nice to be recognized as a fellow rabble rouser.
Clinton was essentially impeached for perjury. Regarding Bush, he has committed perjury on a number of occassions, and has probably committed treason.
If one man commits murder he gets life in jail. If a second commits murder, should he just get to escape punishment, or should he also be held accountable?
It is getting harder and harder to explain to my kids why we let an admitted War Criminal continue to be in charge. What impetus is there for them to obey the law if Bush and his cronies don't have to?
Much better perhaps just to get to know those in power, and then you too can get away with murder.
There you have it. We live in a nation of laws, or we live in a Kafkaesque nightmare, where there are no laws, only a King.
But there's nothing important to think about here folks; how much was Obama's hair cut anyway?
Do you subscribe to the belief that the Constitution is '...just a Goddamn piece of paper!..'? If so, then you are right, I was just kidding.
