  • Mr. Greenwald,

It is unllikely that there will be any solution to this situation generated by those in power. The Democratic party is complicit in all the activities of the current administration, and would open the door to having their own dirty laundry examined if they were to make any challenge to those in power.

Ghandi had the correct approach, and it is the only one which will eventually defeat those vested corrupt interests which cause the great divide between rich and poor.

Solidarity with your fellow man, and overcoming greed are the only tools to defeat an individualistic and aggressive oligarchy. People need to understand that they actually have a lot of power, and that the way to wield it is collectively. Oligarchs need the 'little people' to produce their profits. People need to unite to defeat the enemy which seeks to have its destiny using the old method of dividing and conquering.

The oligarchs only understand profit. Find ways to hit them in the pocket book. Stop contributing to mainstream political parties. Support third party candidates who are for people-centric ideas, such as universal health care. Insist on a fair and transparent voting system. (Google: theBradBlog) Encourage military members to refuse to follow illegal and immoral orders.

The fight will never be lost, and the people will eventually overcome, because an unjust society will never persist. It is simply a question of how long the people are willing to tolerate the current injustice. Best wishes in your continued pursuit of truth, and thanks for your diligent work in educating the people.

  • Mr. Greenwald,

[Read the article: More positive steps from Democratic candidates on the rule of law, amnesty]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It is refreshing to see some of the democrats actually doing something about the destruction of Constituional rights that has occurred under the Bush administration. The fact that the rule of law no longer seems to apply to those in power makes it difficult to understand why it should apply to anyone at all. Evidence suggests that with enough money, one can simply buy off the politicians, and have no consequences to criminal activity.

One wonders when sufficient pressure will be brought to bear on Nancy Pelosi, to force her to put impeachment 'on the table'. Unless Bush and Cheney, amongst others, are impeached, this will give cart blanche to their successors to continue to flout and rewrite laws according to their whims.

For there to be any meaningful return to the rule of law, impeachment must take place, or the Republic is dead.

  • Mr. Greenwald,

Sorry for this completely off topic post.

Just watched Michael Moore's film SICKO, this weekend, and did not realize how good we have it in Canada as compared to you south of the border. Was further astounded by how good they seem to have it in France, and even in the UK!

This film is dangerous, and highly subversive, as it talks about ideas that are counter to the American independent way of thinking and being! I wish to strongly caution your readers not to watch, as those ideas could be revolutionary to your system. Michael Moore may be encouraging people to think for themselves, and this can not be tolerated! It may cause people to seek a better way of life! This film should be marked with strick warnings, and definitely no young people who could be influenced, should be allowed to view it.

Best wishes on your continued Beltway analysis...

  • Mr Greenwald,

[Read the article: The Giuliani moderation fallacy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

For a candidate running on the 9/11 ticket, supposedly being a hero and leader during that catasrophic event, it would be nice if Giuliani would answer the question about how he had fore knowledge that the twin towers were going to collapse.

He was interviewed on local TV news saying that he had been informed before the collapses, that they were imminent.

Given that no steel framed high-rises have collapsed before or since due to plane crashes and fires, it seems to me suspicious that anyone could have predicted this outcome.

How did Giuliani know, and who told him? Were they the same people who suggested 'fixing the facts' around air quality testing in New York City, and announcing that the air was safe to breathe?

Giuliani's campaign would be toast, if only your elections were not fixed. Que sera, sera...

  • Mr. Greenwald,

[Read the article: Tom Friedman and Rudy Giuliani on 9/11]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The depths to which Mr. Giuliani will descend seem bottomless. My previous quetion posted on your site remains unanswered. How did Giuliani have the foreknowledge to know that the Twin Towers were going to collapse? (ABC news interview) Who told him, and why weren't those in the towers privy to that information? If anything, Giuliani's admission that he knew the towers were coming down suggests at best a miserable failure of leadership(he did not make the NY Firemen aware, nor those innocents who died), and at worst, it suggests complicity.

It seems to me that this is a topic worthy of discussion. One wonders why no one will pursue the origins of Giuliani's self- made myth.

All one can say is thank goodness for the internet. The only chance for change is through education. If the lessons are only taught by those in power, the sheep will continue to graze sullenly until they are shipped off to the butcher.
