oh the humanity ... slap Sanford around for hypocrisy but leave the letters alone

While I feel sorry for this schlub getting caught with his pant down, so to speak, his family values hypocrisy is fair game and he should be bi-atched slapped silly.

Sure this has sex-pol side show all over it and the email were bound to get out but we don't need the details and I don't want to know. In fact I skipped the email.

I'm going to give Sanford his dignity on the details (because it's human) but kick him in the groin about the family values hypocrisy.

Hypocrasy aside, Sanford gets empathy - but does he have the courage to follow his heart?

Mr. Kamiya nailed this one. Sanford deserves empathy for being human despite his hypocritical right wing policy.

The question now is if Sanford has the courage to follow his heart, go to Argentina and pursue the woman. I hope he does.

He'll be happier and will plunder the GOP Christian Right BS family values in the process.

Life is short Governor Sanford, don't waste it on bull shit.

Original article: "King of Pop" dies at 50

Mark Sanford thanks god

MJ was a giant, a flawed, weird, pedophile, giant. The only one happy today is Mark Sanford. MJ's dead takes the heat off Sanford.

Michael Jackson was a tragic figure

The weirdness of Michael Jackson kept me from liking him. His music was fine but he was a legit sideshow, a sad one at that.

This write-up cut to the core. Fantastic. I can't ever recall any star rising from age 9 like that and never really stopping until he was 40. He was mad, and not fun mad. A tragic figure but from sadness he made art.

How many wingnuts does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Q: How many wingnuts does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

A: There will be no screwing by any wingnuts unless their name is Craig, Vitter, Sanford, Foley or Ensign.

Okay I have nothing but perhaps the wingnuts should try being human first. That's the core issue here, conservative policies are inhumane, war (2), plundered economy, plundered constitutional rights, laws that let corporate scam artists run amok...and on and on.

If the question was asked of people what kind of policy do Americans support without context to politics, the majority of people's answers would be "liberal" and "moderate" on issues such as job security, regulations of financial institutions, universal health coverage, education and social security.

Fuck the conservatives and wingnuts...and I don't mean screw or sex.

Hey 17 y.o. kids are genetically programmed to hump

Why does anyone, parents, religious types, right wingers, anyoe think they can keep kids from wanting sex and having sex?

Fear? Punishment? That just fucks them up, or makes them want to do it more. You can try and keep the kid from humping and you might succeed but why?

Have the stern talk about sex, STDs, being a teen parent, buy him some rubbers, take out some of the mystic, tell him to be smart about it and leave him alone.

It's about time -- and to hell with Coleman and the Party of No

I hope karma and politics pay back Norm Coleman and the Party of No even more for holding up the process.

Patriots my ass...they're old fashion obstructionists.

This is sad, really, really sad

So Sanford finds his soul mate, yammers on about crossing lines...and then says he wants to fall back in love with his wife. Is this guy just stupid and goofy or such a right wing stooge he believes he can do that?

If he had any real sense he'd resign as gov, leave his wife (and give her some peace) and move to Argentina and pursue the woman.

If Sanford did this I'd have the utmost respect and he'd probably die happy. At worse he'd have tried and that takes real courage.

María Belén Chapur-Sanford for First Lady of South Carolina!

I mean why not? I'd vote for that, if I could. It would send a message of love and hope to the world, instead of puritanical fear and loathing. Hell that has to be good.

Oh right, Mark Sanford would still be gov...well maybe love would turn his policy around. (that's a joke)

That is all.

Original article: Sarah Palin, one tough mama

The appeal of the strong, confident, maternal woman -- just not a very smart one

I can see the appeal to some that Sarah Palin brings, even as I don't like her or her politics much. Strong, confident women are good examples for everyone, men or women.

The thing I object to is that Sarah Palin just isn't very smart and I hold that criteria up to every politician.

Instead of studying the issues and knowing policy, Palin went with folksy, evangelical charm as her main asset...and the media unloaded on that because it was too apparent and embarrassing.

Com'n, she read all the magazines and could see Russia from her house. You simply can't have someone like that in power -- George W. Bush proved this.

Right on Al Franken

Frankly I'd pay to see some of Al's cutting humor leveled at some of this his colleagues. It could help the public get involved in the proceedings.

Imagine if SENATOR Al Franken questioned someone like Bill O'Reily or Rush Limbaugh at a senate hearing! C-Span would get huge ratings.

Senator Franken: Mr. Limbaugh, you're not nearly as fat or as much of liar under oath, bully!

Rush Limbaugh: Why thank you Senator Franken, I appreciate that.

Senator Franken: You better buddy because now we're going to shred your butt now, you freakin' drug felon!

Okay, I'll settle for an effective Democratic senator but anyone that can say, "I'm the New York Jew who actually grew up in Minnesota", has to be revered for his wit. Lets hope he stick around and get to the age where he once again says what he thinks.

Original article: Can Palin ever come back?

Cammie you freakin' dimwit

Cammie, you made a whole hell of lot of errors which you forthrightly fess up to in this column. However as an academic with internet access and interweb column this is beyond dumb.

If you're going rake muck and act like the bad girl at least get your facts straight then you don't look so dumb and it's easier to be taken seriously.

p.s. I read the column but as everyone already knows, the real show is with the letters.
