There I said it. Call the GOP what they are -- two faced, contrarian liars from the Party of No.
Beyond that, yeah the irony of the GOP defending progressives in Iran, AFTER completely mucking up the region with war and ill-conceived policy, is a bit much.
Fuck the GOP, let them burn in hell.

I know there's more...have at it.
Sandra Tsing Loh has always been an entertaining read but if you didn't see this coming when she first started to write about marriage and kids, you were fooling yourself. In my eyes it wasn't if, it was when.
Besides the already mentioned self-absorption, it seems her marriage was partly driven by the get-prego bio clock. It also seems the open book journal life put up a facade and a pressure to keep up appearance.
Ultimately however the writing of Sandra Tsing Loh seemed to be about having everything but spiced with quirkiness and humor. It didn't seem all that different from hyper driven uber yuppies trying to have it all, just artsy and vague alternative but really not. The core value of self-absorption, having and deserving it all was still there.
Nothing wrong with having it all but conventional wisdom suggests it's not real, or at least has serious draw backs and limitations.
Frankly I'm not surprised because good writing still can't hide human nature and reality. Add in the angst-ridden Asian American stuff and the writing was on the wall from the get go.
It's unfortunate but Ms. Loh is just another one of the 40-50% of divorcees in the U.S. Not a very hip place but so it goes.
I read the article and it seems Chu is straight talker and given the previous 8 years of doing nothing (or worse) it's about freakin' time.
Sure the guy might have some political liabilities (or just not being a pol) but with his knowledge he carries weight and moral authority of convictions.
Regarding excessive faith -- what do you want him to do, pray or schmooze?
The big thing is he already knows he won't get perfect legislation but he's moving forward and that's what we need right now...progress in the face of reality.
Isn't that what this is about -- fighting for fairness? Nope life isn't fair but that doesn't mean you have to take it.
Bravo to the Iranian people who have stood up and walked the walk.

That's the jux of the question and issue here; GOP/social conservative/petite fascism give the "do as I tell you not as I do" line and it's complete bullshit.
Democrats/liberals/neo hippies DON'T roll out the personal behavior club unless it's hurting people. As long as it's consenting adults it's not an issue, moral or otherwise.
Wingjob totally evaded the question just like one would expect of a GOP/social conservative/petite fascist. Bunch of fucking hypocrites.
That's it in a nutshell. The GOP wants a war with Iran because:
1) the GOP & friends make money off war & destruction
2) it's the only way they can get off leadership-wise
3) a war EFs everyone, creates a power vacuum they want to seize
4) it increases the chance Obama could fail
5) that's all they have
6) they're the Party of No and the Party of Nihilism

After reading the news reports on Obama's response, I'm more then happy I voted for this man and that he won. He laid out things perfectly while keeping diplomatic sight lines free of polarizing rhetoric and open to change.
The alternative would have been McCain bombing Iran and starting a third war. Imagine that.
p.s. the GOP really should just STFU. They nearly put this country under and they started two wars.
Frankly if I were in the same situation, I'd do the show to make ends meet. 8 kids bunched together like that, with no room to gain economic traction over time is crazy. You can't even plan on hand me downs.
That said, the show was painful to watch from the get-go, even in tiny doses clicking through. It really had that looking at a car wreck feel.
For whatever reason that woman is BITCHY and belittling. She's a hen-pecker on steroids and a nasty edge. Dude deserves some props for lasting that long but he probably did it for the kids. Ultimately he had too much and he grew a pair. Good for him.
On the down side, no winners here. The show even seems to be an analogy of modern American life...we're doomed...but those kids are probably taken care financially. So it goes.
Funny how that works given 84% of the world is Asian, African, Indian, Latino and half aren't men. Just saying.
I think that's the issue here: accountability and no communication. We're not talking a part time job at McDonald's, which by the way if you disappeared without any communication for 4 days, you'd be fired.
Regarding the idea Sanford headed south for sex (gay or straight) I'm fine with that as long as his wife checked off on it.
Yet again, another GOP blow-hard, god fearing, family values wingnut gets caught putting "it" where "it" isn't suppose to be.
And the list of forked tongued lying SOB GOP grows.
What I'm really upset about it Gov. Sanford "off shored" the job. If we can raise the flag to "buy American" then surely "fuck Americans" makes as much sense.
I wonder if Sanford's friend gets a visa.
