Original article: Heads should roll

Holy nimrod idiocracy

Only a truly self-absorbed dope can spin together the short comings of a presidential staff less then 60-days old and a groupie trip to Brazil and Daniela Mercury.

Give me a break. This kind of silly combo is insulting in so many ways. If there's phoning or faxing it in...this must be farting it in over tin cans and string.

Time to play the "personal responsibility" card...or bring out the pitchforks and torches

Lets face it, the financial industry is ripe with Libertarian/GOP economic Darwinist that spout the "personal responsibility" line over and over. It's time to hold these maggots accountable to that idea...or bring out the pitchforks and torches and run these guys around in public and out of town.

Okay pitchforks and torches are a metaphor but these bastards should be held accountable and NEVER WORK IN FINANCE AGAIN, EVER!

Nationalize AIG and the whole freakin' mess

There I said it - nationalize AIG and all the bailout companies. We already paid for it, we might as well fully own it. Then at least we can gets what's due, fire those that need to go and at least get a semi-fair break on what we (taxpayers) put in.

Nope, this does *NOT* make us commies. Nope it makes us collective capitalists expecting some return on "investments".

Is there a public list of executives who received bonuses?

If there isn't, there ought to be. Tax payers have a right to know who is getting paid off handsomely with their money.

Once this list appears -- AIG will roll over.

Beyond that, nationalize AIG. We the taxpayers already put in enough, we should get return on investment and control.

Original article: Sleeping with the in-laws

good advice Cary

The only thing/cliche I can add is -- you marry the family as well as the spouse. Not getting hitched certainly fixes that. Brilliant suggestion CT.

The Invisible Hand is wacking off...that's what got it in trouble

Yup...and we're all going to go blind because the Invisible Hand did it way too often, against the wishes/demands of his nanny, i.e., regulations.

Note to Press: quit being babies

Okay, yes this wasn't exactly news but really why are you (the press) complaining here? As mentioned, W gives one press conference a year full of softball questions and non-answers and his admin lands America in one huge freakin' mess and the press rolls over like lap dogs.

Now Obama decides to be up front about things, says he's going to communicate with the public and takes actual questions and you jump on him? Sure this was part of a plan to sell his economic program but isn't that his job, to gain support of his programs and communicate intent?

There shouldn't be any free passes but holy cow, give the guy a little time (like more then 60 days) to tell us what he's planning to do and why. Given the past 8 years of W, the fact Obama is willing to talk and be forth-coming is indeed news.

Damn right -- nothing like formalized goofing off and having fun

Garrison Keillor strikes again and nails it! Such seemingly simple words about fundamental things, perfect example of art!

Tuesday, March 24, 2009 10:57 PM

I kept thinking -- my god we no longer have a boob as POTUS

Seriously, what a HUGE and GINORMUS difference...a president who can think complex thoughts, analyze and plan solutions and communicate and give complex explanations in layman terms!

It's only been 60+ days and we're still in the crapper but man, what a difference!

Original article: Obama's smooth call

Instead of the usual suspects, nice to see different reporters asked

I for one welcome different reporters being asked. Sure it was partly calculated but hasn't this always been the case?

Great, great link to the Richard Pryor sketch. Holy hell, Pryor was a visionary. Ed Henry got played just like the last dude in Pryor's sketch.

Got to like Obama's dry sense of humor

Obama's response only needed, "and do you fellas desire a munchies stimulus package to the legalized MJ bill?"

Barrak has smoked some weed in his day and he knows cyberspace new-conferencers are a bunch of freakin' stony stoned potheads...not that there's anything wrong with that.

Realistically however, there's way bigger fish to fry and tossing that in now would just rouse the puritans. Give him credit however, his AG and drug czar have put out policy saying no hassling of medical MJ clinics.

Is it me or does Bachmann looks like Octo-Mom?

Well she is about as smart. That is all.

Nice start -- didn't go far enough

Nice link. Glad the Dems are going on the offensive now, if not fully offensive. Given the GOPs liking of hay rising full fascist attack, it's a reasonable preemptive measure. (Just look at Rush, O'Reilly and the rest of the right mouth pieces.)

It's absolutely amazing that after the GOP plundered the economy, they're not in stall-do-nothing-obstructionist mode. They deserved to be pummeled...this was more a gentle poking.

Original article: Rusty and me

That's a real shame, the name ID thing

This was a sad read for many reasons. Certainly you feel for someone in this situation, like if your last name was Hitler. Understandably one would be upset and freaked out.

On the other hand, Cousin Rusty probably calls this sort of thing collateral damage and as a soft moderate, you deserve it. That is his usual logic and if you want to believe it's a show, well go ahead...won't make the pain go away.

I'd either change your name or write a book about it, or both. Cousin Rusty surely couldn't blame you for making a buck at the expense of a relative. He might even respect you more.

Makes sense in this ADHD world

First it was pagers and cells and now it's mobile and instant info everywhere. This makes perfect sense to me. The internet is dangerous as time suckage because it's too easy and it zings the brain's fun zone...but it doesn't help you get your work done.

Add me to the list of those that want one for a PC.
