Simply more GOP dodge and hide and run away tactics

Oh so often you hear the GOP and the right wing nut job spout off about taking personal responsibility, commitment to your country and so on...and yet you have the other side, the dodgers, the flakes and the plain chicken sh*ts.

It's this simple -- John Sidney McCain III doesn't want to face off with Barack Obama because Barack will absolutely hammer him on the economy, of which McCain has admitted he knows little about. Barack Obama will then bring up the Keating S&L scandal if McCain squirms.

God damn it, face the music like a man McCain. Show up for the debate and quit weenieing out.

p.s. and how about let Sarah Palin talk freely or talk at all with reporters?

What debates? McCain is weeny-ing on the whole process

Send old man MeCain down the river with the other soulless money grubbing retards that make up the GOP.

Hey McCain said he doesn't know much about the economy

The question is why did he show up to the bail out talks? To look like he's doing something?

McCain is big, big trouble for the U.S. He wants more war, less regulations and knows nothing about the economy....send him down the river with the rest of the neo-con con artist and idiots.

Original article: The Sarah Palin pity party

I feel a bit sorry for anyone put into a position they're not qualified for and can't handle but I still want to see Sarah the Moosehunter buried

That's it. One can feel empathy for someone's position on a human level but on a political level and what Sarah Barracuda represents - HELL NO.

I hope Sarah Palin gets virtually flogged in public and I hope the GOP squirm with shame, self-pity, anger and every other emotion their teeny-tiny hearts can muster. They created the situation, they put poor little unqualified Sarah on the spot, they need to take personal responsibility for their actions. Of course they won't. They'll shrink away and blame others as it their game.

Send Sarah and the lot of them down the river with the other neo-con weenies, asshole and plunderers.

For Palin to leave the ticket...look for an October surprise sprung by the GOP

That's the only way to get Sarah Palin off the ticket. An October surprise...conceived and executed by the GOP themselves. (Paging Karl Rove, paging Karl Rove) Perhaps they push Troopergate or find some other skeletons in Sarah's closet.

I'm thinking Musky mental health issue or lesbian affair on her high school basketball team.

Whatever the case -- it's going to be the GOP that does the dumping here. You know, it'll be like shooting yourself in the leg to prove your innocence. If it happens, I won't be a bit surprised.

Beer and Cookies -- that's what the GOP are about

I read on a blog somewhere a very pissed off message about how "Americans two wars, a huge deficit and now a economy in the tank because a lot of clowns voted for W because they want to feel they could have a beer with him".

On that note, the GOP have repeated themselves offering up PTA Mom Sarah at a bake sale offering up cookies with all the folksy charm of Betty White on acid.

The debate simply confirmed the GOP tactic of imbeciles as candidates. I mean WTF, enough already, no more beer and cookies GOP politicians.

Send the Cookie Mom back to Alaska.

First thought to come to mind: a PhD is not a substitute for self esteem or worldly understanding

Okay, perhaps that's too harsh but there's some truth to it especially in this situation. Having ginormus mental and academic capabilities means little because humanity is an applied field.

Any way, it seems clear as day to me. PhD chick needs to be the adult and "the boy" found someone to help with his transition to college. He'll slowly move away once he figures out college and meets a fine co-ed. The LW needs to calculate around this...and/or find another boy toy where the circumstances are a bit more manageable and have some fun...maybe write a book about it.

Oh yeah, the middle-class angst here is poison...but that's what you get if you drink the kool-aid.

The GOP are playing the fear card, once again, as always

All the post-9/11 legislation and war mongering was fear based. The Wall Street bail-out was fear based. Willie Horton was fear based. Karl Rove and Dick Cheney are fear based. This scare is fear based. Is it really any surprise?

Gladly however I think the fear-based jig is finally up. The GOP called "wolf" one too many times.

Oh leave Cammie alone...if George Will and Chris Matthews can have man crushes, then Cammie can have a lady crush!

How's that for progressive feminism?

Yeah right...yet ironically in super lefty California, Cammie could wed her "Amazon warrior"! Of course getting new feminist Sarah "closet case" Palin to agree AND having to fight off potential 2nd Dude Todd...would be just TOO HOT! What a rush!

Seriously, kidding aside, Palin as a "powerful new symbols of a revived contemporary feminism"? WTF, are you kidding?

This is so silly and inane, it's crazy. Hell Cammie Pags loved Madonna for the same reason. Just goes to show a dopey, egomaniac woman columnist can be just as stupid and retarded as men with man-crushes like George Will, etc.

Now that's progress!

Whatever you're smoking Cammie, I want like 3x of that!!! Pronto!

Just wondering...does C Paglia get paid per letter response?

I'm just asking since that seems potentially profitable...and it's the only thing I can think of why Salon still publishes her work...because it generates a lot of traffic. Nothing wrong with this really, it does open dialog but it's also a bit weird. Oh well, that is all.

Bring back the WPA and positive investment

Indeed, as mentioned by many letters, positive investment (investment that brings return or value) is a good thing. Roads, schools, universities, health care, renewal energy all have positive value to the economy and serves most everyone.

In fact, as Barack Obama has mentioned, renewal energy is something that can be exported as intellectual properties and industry, helping other nations, the U.S. and the earth. That's a win-win-win.

In the "real" world of business, sometimes you have to spend a wad of money (at great risk) to out-pace the competition and get ahead. The gain is survival, the risk is shutting things down.

In this case the competition is the gravity of the recession/depression and the complete failure (and greed) of banking and finance. As with the Great Depression, the WPA and government investment pulled the U.S. out of the drink.

Shutting down the economy is NOT an option. Spend, but spend wisely.
