Let me get this straight.
In 2006, Pelosi and company campaigned on the ideas that when in the majority, they would defund the war, cut gas prices in half, bring ethics back to congress, and improve the economy.
It is now 2008, and gas prices have doubled, there are more soldiers in Iraq than in 2006, ethical congressman is an oxymoron, and the economy is in the tank.
So, they are 0-4, their approval rating is south of Bush's, and Greenwald is blaming Republicans? Yeah, that's the ticket.
kjmurphy - Matheson represents his district and the state of Utah, not the Democratic party. He has done a horrible job of representing Utah.
So, is it more racist that 95% of African Americans are voting for Obama because he is black, or that 15% of Caucasian Americans will not vote for him because he is black?
So, it is ok when the racists and sexists vote for Barack and Hillary. Why, because the agree with your point of view? Lets hope that this argument does not become the ticket mantra, because if it does, we will lose again.
@ DonnaQuixote
I did not vote for Bush either time, so I owe no apology to anyone for what he has done to this country. My point is that articles like this will lose us another election. No one is going to change their vote when they are being called racist and sexist. It is just a bad argument, that cuts both ways.
Vote for Obama or you are a racist.
Vote for Obama or you are an idiot.
These are the arguments we use to convince Republicans to vote for Democrats? I can not believe that we are about to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory because we have not figured out that insulting others is off putting.
People live up to the expectations you have for them. If you tell them they are stupid racists, they will prove you correct. I guess it is more important to be "correct" than win an election and save the country.
With men, we say that they make their choice when they have sex. While with women, we say they can make the choice whenever they feel like it, and change their mind as often as they want on the choice. Why?
Why is pro choice for women only? It seems to me that pro choice should be for both men and women. If the women wants to keep a child, and the man does not, then the women should be soley responsible for the child's welfare and support.
The Democratic Party slogan should be "Yeah, but that's different".
