  • so, let me get this straight...

    Sorry But Its True,

*One vote*, in the heat of an exceptional moment in history taints the credability and honor of a lifetime of service to our country?

I am right up there with the next pinko liberal, don't get me wrong. I am totally against what is going on in Iraq. But....

I must tell you to get off your proverbial horse of righteous indignation and see Senator Cleland as a human being. And a pretty fine example of one at that.

Even with some bad voting choices (which are inevitable, I will add), I'd wager a good sum that he has done more for this country as a veteran than you have pissing and moaning about how horrible the politicians are in this country.

J.Bo, I think you are missing the point of the article.

The argument isn't about what is or isn't healthy, but everyone's right to love and be loved for who they are. Ridicule and fingerpointing is not the usual motivator for people to get up and get active. Fat people are not the clueless stupid rubes that you make them out to be.

People in general are more active when they are happy, and are more happy when they are surrounded by love and positive energy. Whether that is from friends, or from a lover, doesn't really matter. When there isn't, self destructive behavior comes in all forms, whether it is a pint of icecream, a fifth of gin, or starvation.

I have battled with my weight ever since jr.high, (I blame a genetic slug-like metabolism). That being said, I have been going to the gym at work 3x a week for the last 5 years and while I have gotten stronger, the differences are subtle. And ya know what? I am more active than my husband, who is a former Marine. I am the one to drags my friends to the gym. I am the one who can out benchpress an 19yo boy with 130lbs. And guess what? I'm 5'5" and 310lbs.

What is killing us in America is more than just diet.

It's the sitting infront of computers all day, playstation at night, cable tv... ontop of people eating overprocessed oversugared foods, smoking and any number of other things.

THIS IN NO WAY CHANGES THE FACT THAT HEALTH IS STILL THE PRIMARY ISSUE.

in this article, the issue is not about health, but love and attraction.

This country has a problem. There is no doubt about that. But it isn't just poor people. I see rich fat people, I see poor fat people, I see middle america that is pretty soft-in-the-middle too.

The poverty makes it harder to overcome it, but you can't judge a wallet by the butt that carries it.

Men obtain...the most attractive woman that they can afford (what their income and net worth will attract). Women get the best (income and net worth) man that their looks will allow them to.

wow, NoNameGiven, I amazed at how simplistic your world view is.

    let me summarize...

    Men are valued by money.

    Women are valued by looks.

I suppose in a universe that has the depth of damp pavement this is true. I prefer to live in a universe that is filled with complexity.

Vapid but beautiful apparently is more valuable to you. Which I suppose works, since you (presumably) have the money to buy them.

    wHATEver.

    Gosh NoNameGiven...

You lost a whole 35 pounds, that must make you an expert at the experience of massive weightloss.

It isn't about wanting to be treated as More Woman, it's about not being treated as Less of a Woman.

Really, I could give a rat's patoot if you find me, or those like me attractive. Even if you did, your attitude is far FAR more distasteful than any poundage that is either on my ass, or on the weight machine that I use.

I made the point about weightlifting not to show off, but to make a point about stereotypes and assumptions. Oh yeah, and I don't get manicures, I get simple wash&go haircuts, shower every day, and have a Master's degree.

So, I got a question for you, NNG... one day, when your vapid bombshell who you have pledged your love to suddenly isn't da bomb anymore?

oh yeah, that's right, you have no actual love to give.

    my bad.

I'll scrape you off the bottom of my shoe now.

I thought it was just me who didn't have this problem!

I was starting to feel like an Auslander!

I felt shame, to not be included.

y'all rock. I wish I could know you in RL.

To EvilNoName, I have determined that you are petty and hateful. I am glad that you are an anoymous blip on the net. I bet you have a goatee and live in an alternate universe, too.
