First of all I could hardly put it down, a great read just like the column. Second, I have a bit of an email debate with some conservative friends and I mentioned the book, particularly the John Wayne section. I was kind of surprised (I don't know why) with how defensive they were about "the duke" even though some of them are Generation X/Y age (like me) and therefore conceivably too young to know "Marion Morrison" so well.

The sad thing is that Bush era scandals also have their erotic adventures, but the humilation of captives in illegal prisons doesn't seem to push the buttons for the media the same way an Oval Office bj does. It is a shame that a tough investigative journalist like Georgie boy who is not afraid to grill Obama about flag pins and Bill Ayers has suddenly lost his nerve to question a nonsensical assertion that has become a mantra for the Israel lobby's pod people aka the executive and legislative branches.

I guess that falls in to the whole idea of those "shrill" leftist radicals like Glenn shrieking about such an "out there" concept of following our own laws. Maybe it is a compliment though, as the written words apparently shouted at her that she is dead wrong on this.

The idea of what "normal people" on tv have can inflate the sense of what the average household should have in their own respective hovels.
