Other people die while the chickenhawks stay safe.
I'm not hoping for the rat bastards in charge to die, but this little incident reminds me of the time that Wolfowitz was in Iraq and his hotel was bombed. He walked away, but at least one US serviceman was killed - along with a number of Iraqis, IIRC. That may be the strongest argument I've ever encountered that there is no God, or at least justice.
I'm fully aware that not everyone serving in the military is a paragon of virtue, especially after they've been sent into a hellhole. As with cops, any job that provides a gun and power attracts some people who shouldn't have either, and not all of them are screened out. But having said that, I believe that every single one of the thousands of dead and wounded "coalition" troops - and Afghan and Iraqi civillian casualties - are better human beings than the lying, treasonous scumbags that "led" us into Iraq and their sycophants in Congress and the media.
"That entails some responsibility on his part"
Thanks for the laugh! This is W and Cheney's "Responsibility Era", which means that they'll accept responsibility as long as there is no blame or accountability.
Besides, Cheney probably expects the families of the victims to apologize for them being in the wrong place and time, just like his hunting companions.
It must be the fake hair.
(1980s-late-Friday-night-NBC-90-minute version) Farm Film Celebrity Blow-Up.
In addition to having guests who blew up real good, Big Jim MacBob and Billy Sol Hurok would sometimes report on farm prices: "Chicken wings are out of joint at 10 cents a pound."
Thanks for prompting me to write something I've been stewing about for weeks.
Harry Shearer owes his fans (I've counted myself among them up to now) an "apology of the week" for hawking his book on this turd Glenn Beck's radio show a few weeks ago.
I was radio dial-surfing and heard Harry. Stopping on that station I eventually realized he was on Beck's show. They yucked it up about Harry's book, his time on SNL and the Simpsons, and his movies. Funny though, I never heard them mention that Harry has a show on NPR called "Le Show".
From what I know of Beck, the moron probably wasn't aware of that - but if he was, maybe there was some sort of agreement not to mention it. I doubt that any of Beck's listeners who might consider buying Harry's book would do so if they new about that Frenchy-named show on that damn liberal NPR. Actually, I can't believe Beck's listeners would buy any book except maybe his or Coulter's.
Maybe Beck and Harry are friends from way back, but I doubt it. And there's no way that Harry wouldn't know about Beck's idiotic, insulting, bigoted questioning of Michigan Congressman Ellison(?) - and Beck's idiotic, insulting, bigoted, no-talent self. (Seems like I also heard that Beck insulted Katrina victims - people that Harry supposedly champions - but I didn't hear that myself and I don't recall the details.)
The only reason I can think of for him to go on Beck's show was publicity for his book.
As Harry would say: gotta move product, huh, babe?
And by the way, what the hell is wrong with "CNN Headline News" that they would put - and keep - Glenn Beck on the air?
Why does Duffy say "...produced an independent operation inside the White House..."? (Emphasis mine)
Independent from what or who(m?)? Dubya? Chances are that he was more familiar with Cheney's "independent" operation than he was with anything else the government was doing - which come to think of it, was Cheney's operation too.
Otherwise we might hear something like
"...and don't park like my President."
Thanks for one of the funniest posts I've read in a long time.
And in response to "kickstarts": my recollection is that the rat bastard chickenhawk Wolfie didn't spit on the comb, he stuck it in his lie-spewing mouth.
I don't have any experience managing political campaigns, but I haven't lost as many as Bob Shrum has - and I've probably won as many as he has in the last 10 years.
Hans said "Did anyone happen to catch NPR’s coverage of the weekend's anti war protests? One would think there were an equal number of pro war protesters given NPR’s coverage."
What got me was when the correspondent (I don't recall her name) referred to the war supporters as the "pro-troop" demonstration. As if those of us who want to get the troops out of Iraq - including those who never wanted to send them there in the first place - can't possibly be "supporting" them.
I'm not surprised by this sentiment from those who only hear the official line and right-wing talking points, but shouldn't "legitimate" media like NPR be more objective?
Reminded me of a Steven Wright joke: "My nephew has HD-ADD. High Definition Attention Deficit Disorder. He can hardly focus on anything, but when he does he REALLY pays attention."
At least Valerie Plame was, as I understand it, relatively safe at home in the US when she was outed. Not so lucky were any overseas operatives, foreign sympathizers and contacts who were exposed as a result of the Bushies' treasonous actions.
And not only were the deaths of some of those people a likely outcome, exposing Plame also must have caused serious damage to (if not ended) her operation, a little thing called nuclear non-proliferation.
Impeachment and prison is too good for the traitors who did this.

Actually, there's an even easier way to tell when they're about to BS: they open their mouths to talk.
