Isn't that the paper published by (Sun Yung?) Moon's Unification Church, which teaches that Moon is the Perfect Father who was put on Earth by God because Jesus messed up his chance - or something like that?
Why would they care about Christmas? Is it Moon's birthday?
"he appeared to sneak out of the chamber by the back entrance"
I was watching C-span on the intertubes and there was a puff of smoke just before something that looked like a small mammal flew out of the room.
If Burris is truly unconnected to Blago and he's as good as any other potential Senator (at least for 2 years), the easiest & quickest way to settle it would be for the Lt Gov to announce that if Blago's removed, (s)he would appoint Burris.
I have to say it's nice that Spineless Bill Nelson will hold someone accountable for a bet they made, but it's too bad he doesn't feel the same about, say, an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution.

...to appoint a Chief Justice who can't manage to say the presidential oath correctly.
gives a flying rat's ass WHAT Newtie says?
My "Democratic" Senator, Spineless Bill Nelson, voted for this moronic Republican amendment.

It's embarrassing to be a Dem when our "leaders" kiss Arlen Specter's butt because we don't have 60 votes.
And not to be a broken record, but as I've said many times before, you know damn well that if we ever do have at least 60 seats, Reid & company will whine that they just can't do anything until there are 67.
I may be wrong, but I think NOAA and some other science agencies are in Commerce. Why not emphasize that aspect and get someone like James Hansen (? - the NASA global-warming guy) or even Former Actual President AL Gore?
Or Warren Buffett?
Or Jimmy Buffett? A shrewd bidnessman, and he could proclaim an official anthem for NOAA: "Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season."
"...the notion that many Salon editors are still bitter about Obama beating Hillary."
I think in Alex's case, it's about Obama beating Sarah Palin and what's-his-name.
Wow, is that true? I must have missed it when Alex said he reveres O'Reilly, but that would explain a lot.
"...Brown's vote is crucial, so Majority Leader Harry Reid will probably have to hold the vote open until the Ohio senator arrives."
But if the Republicans complain, he'll probably cave and close the vote before Brown gets back.
And since he'll be afraid that they'll complain again, he'll rule that the GOP gets 5 extra votes, to keep things fair.
Then they'll complain that he didn't give them 10.
But in the future, how about an NSFW warning?
Echoing a line I've seen many times, Ramesees said:
"That’s right, Obama didn’t even write the bill, so how could the comment that they'd have to find somebody else to write the stimulus bill be about Obama?"
Come on. Do you expect us to believe that the Post's right-wing target audience doesn't associate Obama with the stimulus bill?
Even if BUSH had written it Obama's advocacy has tied it to him. In the view of the Post's readers, it's Obama's Stimulus Bill.
Didn't they get around the "stormtroopers are people two" issue by making them all "clones"?
Typo or extra-clever use of the word "two"?
And I wonder why they'd think that having the steamtroopers be clones would get around the people issue - wouldn't clones be people t... I mean, also?
They should focus on their own damn families and leave everyone else alone.
"Obviously, this poll is very, very early and it will very likely not predict much about how the 2012 race actually shapes up."
Which begs the question: WHY waste time and electrons on this non-story?
Thanks, Saint Ralph - this is just the latest proof that your "not a dime's worth of difference" line was total bullshit.
Of course, the most tragic proof is Iraq.
I believe the correct expression is [Star Trek Nerd Alert!]:
"Brain and brain! What is brain?"
"Love the cameo by the 'get a brain! morans' guy
Do you think he knows how famous he is?"
So this was a real-life* guy - who actually had that on a sign and not just an interwebs comment? I don't doubt it at all, but if there's a picture somewhere I haven't seen it and I'd love to.
*Notice I didn't say he has any connection with reality other than his existence.
"Reality-based Liberal" had this to say in the "You say 'polarizing' like it's a bad thing" thread:
"Enough with the horse race shit.
...Why not cover the White House and Congress like a journalist? You know, ferret out facts that matter and report them?...We need facts and public pressure to have a functional democracy. Not this American Idol garbage.
But I guess if you're a 20-something "blogger" who has no living memory or education regarding how civic life actually works, this shiny bobble of a topic might seem worth attention.

#5. Generally, comments that make general statements about entire groups of people are ill-considered.
And why comment about white people hating hip-hop when the rapper - uh, hip-hopper - being discussed is a white guy?
From the other side - those who don't want to hear any more about Palin - I heartily agree with your wise suggestion, and humbly offer a friendly amendment to the effect that Alex K be responsible for the Palin Section.
Let's hope that that will provide a healthy outlet for his obsession.

"I cannot believe what I heard today... President Obama is disarming America. Never before has a president so ravaged the military at a time of war."
Besides the fact that Obama is doing nothing of the sort, Imhoffe conveniently forgets the wholesale ravaging of the military at the hands of BushCheney.
