"needy families get dream vacations but have to spend them with Pauly Shore"
How terribly cruel humans can be.
On a serious note, it would've been nice if Heather or whoever wrote the "ALSO" paragraph had mentioned that the now-famous Jeremiah Wright will be on Bill Moyers' Journal tonight.
Maybe Bill will ask him if he thinks George Stephanopoulos loves America as much as he does. Or he could channel CNN's Bernard Shaw to ask the one question that George and Charlie forgot: "If Bill Clinton were raped and killed by Willie Horton, would you be in favor of the death penalty?"
I guess you mean Clinton's hypocrisy in accusing Obama of saying something she has also said.
...with the sound turned off. Is he saying "throwing it up" - I'm sorry, I mean "throwing it ewwwp"?
Popular "music" has been going downhill ever since the birth of disco.
Brian the Geezer
And you kids get off my lawn!
I can't believe you're still beating this dead horse.
We all know the REAL question is "Does Rev. Wright wear a flag lapel pin?" - oops, my bad, I mean "Does Rev. Wright believe in the flag?".
"Sometimes, Rush Limbaugh seems like nothing so much as a man who has a pathological need for attention. Fortunately for him, he knows exactly how to get what he craves."
Unfortunately for us, you're willing to give it to him.
(Short version: see Bklyn260 and TreeRol's posts above.)
And although Ben Smith isn't in the same category as Limbaugh, I'm getting pretty tired of every other item being based on something Smith's written in Politico. Maybe you should save yourself some trouble and just post a link to Smith's latest article.
An hour of airtime devoted to "Oprah's sandwich showdown".
"Please tell me this is a misquote: 'Well, the first is always a demand that you're going to have someone that's going to be able to assume the responsibility'. Did he really say that Clinton would not be able to assume the responsibility of being President?"
That's reading a lot into Alex's article. There's no reason to think that Kennedy was saying that about Clinton. I think it was just standard boilerplate language, or a CYA alternative to saying "uh..." while he tried to think of an answer.
And it's great that you "will not in any way support a party that will tolerate that kind of misogynist attitude" but if you're willing to quit the party because of that perceived slight, how can you be so supportive of someone who says:
"Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."
In all seriousness, don't you understand how such a statement can be perceived ?
I'm not surprised that you perceive it that way, but of course that's not what she said. She didn't say "hard working white Americans", she said "hard working Americans, white Americans" which appears to be equating two groups and not doubly-qualifying one group.
FWIW, I'm not alleging that she or Bill are racists (I agree with today's Joe Conason column, the end of which is copied below). But some of their comments fit the description that Rosalyn Carter gave when asked if she thought Reagan was a racist: "He makes us comfortable with our prejudices."
From Joe Conason:
"As governor, it was Bill Clinton who erased the last vestiges of Jim Crow from the Arkansas Constitution.
So the Clintons probably understand the essential evil of racism better than most white politicians. They have certainly done more than most of today's white politicians to combat that evil. That is why, as they contemplate the conclusion of this campaign, they deserve better from themselves than to encourage doubt about their decency and character."
Personally, I'm hoping that "2209" is the earliest year there'll be another person named Bush or Clinton in the White House.
Though I'd make an exception for Clinton if Chelsea clears the family name during her 8 years as VP for President Michelle Robinson(?) Obama.
See "today's" Boondocks - actually from Oct 9 2000, but disturbingly contemporary:

You forget the War Room first commandment: "Thou shalt not question the conclusions of the Politico's Ben Smith."

And jebldmn, re your comment:
"This is just another example of how Obama supporters, with their anger and paranoia, have divided the Democratic Party."
Yeah. No irony there.
Seriously, Obama supporters can get overzealous, but we're just trying to show that Hillary doesn't have ALL the hard-working whites on her side.
manyctnj: would you "have zero respect for a group like this that would choose one Democrat over another at this point in the campaigning" if NARAL had endorsed Clinton? (Update: After seeing your comment that you'll vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't win, nevermind. You're a troll or a resident of the Bizzaro universe. I guess in your world, if Obama's supporters don't get him nominated they'll write-in Pat Buchanan.)
sesanders: "Obama is not electable. That's clear." Really? He leads Hillary by every measure, yet she's more electable? How is that "clear"?
Actually, what Rachel Maddow was saying was that she HERSELF felt kind of ghoulish because of comments she (Rachel) had made earlier this week.
I completely agree, except that I prefer Obama.
Ausman's wife is a Clinton delegate and although he's been officially uncommitted until now, the Tallahassee rumor mill considered him a Clintonian all along...as I heard it anyway, from rank and file Dems - I don't know what big rollers thought.
I've never been a big Ausman fan, but when he's right he's right - as he was with his delegate challenge. However, his dream ticket of Hillary as VP would be a horrible mistake, IMNSHO.
Though at the moment I can't think of another state to nominate.
I was gonna say that you can't blame the state that "Jeb!" ruined, but it's not like he took power by armed force...that I know of, anyway.
