The silent scream video: An oldie but a goodie

Glad mum2b is such a well-informed nursing student. Hope she goes into obstetrics. When Roe v. Wade is overturned, she’ll be needed to help root out all those fake “miscarriages” and see that the murderers are brought to swift justice.

What do you think, mum2b, death penalty or life in prison for these women?

Original article: The artist as mad scientist

Just because you think something's bullshit doesn't make it so.

Quite true.

And just because grant committees & Salon readers think it's art doesn't make it so.

Original article: The FDA got me pregnant

A fetus will lead us

Way to go anti-choice movement! They've framed the issue for all of us now.

Abortion: Always bad. Always horrible. Only needed by the irresponsible and the careless. Should be very very rare (unless I or my daughter or my niece needs one).

Women who have abortions: Irresponsible. Careless. "Where was your birth control?" "How dare you make a mistake?" "It's your fault, your fault, your fault!"

They've started on birth control now. How long before pro-choicers (should we be renamed bad choicers?) are fussing at women who want to have sex during their fertile times & not get pregnant? "Irresponsible?" "It's not up to the government to save you from your self!" "How could you be so careless?" "Couldn’t you wait? Performed another sex act instead?”

The war is over. They won.

Oh Ms. Lamott

After you converted from booze to jesus I've snarked on your faith and your hairstyle. Now this.

I must say bravo for you!! After all these years "relief" is still taboo and those of us who have had abortions are supposed to be guilty and ashamed. A lot of us aren't. Thank you for saying it.

For the "every sperm is sacred" crowd among us, next time you feel compelled to rant that "abortion is murder," consider that there is probably a woman within earshot who has had an abortion and her life was saved in ways you couldn't imagine. Now explain that a fertilized egg is more valuable than she is. What does this say about your humanity?

"THINK" so don't make it so

If LW has doubts about her relationship, by all means, look at those doubts, think, consider. That's reality, not always pretty, not always easy.

But, leave out the dream interpretations, the tea leaves, the tarot cards, the runes. They'll only slow you down.

mj didn't insult depressed people

Much worse, she insulted, the saints, the givers of life, PARENTS.

I've got the big D, from both sides of my family, now treated, thank you big pharma. but growing up with a (mostly) untreated parent was no fun. (depression is very much a me me me disease).

MJ would have gotten less crap if she had suggested jesus was a girl.

Original article: The beef over pet food

This is why it is wrong to abandon the space program

Somewhere there is a planet where all fundamentalists (vegan, raw food, christian, islamic) can be sent to live where they will not be bothered by meat, free thought, birth control, and the rest of us non-"it-getters". Your lives will be happy and there will be no problem with tourists.

One thing: No sneaking back to earth for chocolate!
