Original article: Arlington's buried secrets

Nothing wrong with this story

Nothing sacrosanct about the military screwing up. Nothing wrong with pointing out that MilIntel (I love their habit of truncating phrases) is seriously stupid from top to bottom.

I'd say that the boys who found their way into Arlington were slightly better off than the thousands and thousands who are still missing in Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia... how many did we leave behind in Iraq the first time around? And by the 1980s, we didn't want to actually find any MIA soldiers, did we? It would have been politically unfortunate. There's a chilling story if you want to dig a little bit.

Health care boondoggle NOT ON THE TABLE

"I think 70% would support that" -- sorry, remember, the NINETY percent who opposed the double-bailout under Bush43 and then Obama? Pink-slip Congress as a whole. They are not listening to anything not whispered in their ear by lobbyists.

After you plaster someone with the "terrorist" label

Everything is cake, is it not? Certainly no "terrorist" can ever be INNOCENT.

Obama is the greatest lemon of all time. Who would have guessed that he was going to continue each and every Bush43 atrocity?

Sittin' in this muddy water

Washin' out these dirty clothes

When corruption has achieved systemic levels, is a turnaround without a collapse realistic? It's no longer a question of a few bad apples gaming the system -- everyone in power appears to be shot through with corruption, their oath of office long-forgotten mumbo-jumbo. Honest people are considered fools. They "don't get it" and are excluded entirely -- who wants someone playing by the rules?

Given that no one was prosecuted for 9/11, no one will be prosecuted for your formerly healthy 401k plan or IRA. The scammers made out like thieves, as usual. The whole thing is dirty from top to bottom. Pretending to fix things is just a smokescreen for further corruption.

Did the other shoe ever drop re: CDOs?

As in who is holding worthless paper, and how much is/was it valued at? Banks are still hoarding paper money, which the Fed is printing just as fast as it can (backed by thin air, btw). In the meantime, the suits are trying to breathe life back into a bubble so they can make more money.

Everyone else I know is either worried, hurting, or selling everything they own. God help you if you're ill and need cash for medical expenses.

Meanwhile, our blissfully clueless elected representatives have spent HOW much money this year alone? Money which we simply do not have. And we're still conducting two undeclared wars of aggression. Who'll pay for them?

The country is insane and busted, yet continuing to operate. Any bankers hanged by the neck until deceased yet? Why not?

Original article: I want my girlfriend back

Hey now

How'd that corporate job work out for you? Good move. Oops, then you changed your mind? And traveled to Asia thinking that you'd be getting a warm welcome?!?! C'est magnifique!

ATTENTION: YOU ARE GETTING A SHARP CLUE POUNDED INTO YOUR CHEST LIKE A VAMPIRE WOULD BE KILLED IN A VAMPIRE MOVIE. Enjoy the experience. And good luck getting over the girl you left.

And, yeah, DID she grow her hair out..?

I had to provide a certified birth certificate to get my kid a US Passport

So what's the big deal about the President coming up with a certified birth certificate? Aside from the usual self-righteous fluster and flapping of wings (and name calling!), the Obama-ites have nothing. Put up or shut up. Asking to see a certified birth certificate is not like asking for the absurd or the impossible.

I had to come up with a certified copy of my kid's birth certificate to get him a Passport. A "birth abstract" was not acceptable.

Provide the document. I had to.

Signed,

Wingnut Tree-Hugging Racist Anti-Semite Truther (there. saved you the trouble.)

The market is being gamed to suck "little people" back in

Prior to a major collapse this fall. Invest all you want! Have fun!

@frybread: not a "birth abstract" but an actual birth certificate with a seal on it

Comprende? When I was told @ the Passport office that the "birth abstract" was not acceptable, I had to send off for a certified copy of the BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

No amount of bluster or indignation was going to sway the (negro) woman who told me that the "birth abstract" did not satisfy the requirements for a Passport.

This is a non-issue -- just provide the birth certificate. If he doesn't have one, get one. If one doesn't exist, then certainly the CIA or FBI can fake one. Just PROVIDE the document.

the lowbrow contingent knows that Jesus(tm) is on their side

Which is laughable on numerous levels, or would be if some missing link hadn't murdered some abortion doctor. That "let go, let God" mentality removes personal responsibility from their criminal actions.

Do you ever see any anti-abortion types lining up to adopt black crack babies? Doubtful. Just as long as you don't abort the kid. A life of poverty and hopelessness isn't an issue, apparently, just do not abort the kid. Because Jesus(tm) said so.

The vast majority of Murcuns are far dumber than you imagine.

Original article: The Birthers in Congress

Don't lump me in with Mary Bono

But what is the big deal, here? I had to get a notary seal and send off for a CERTIFIED copy of my kid's birth certificate to get him a Passport -- the "birth abstract" wasn't good enough.

So what's the big deal, here? Produce the freaking birth certificate. It's that simple. Do it. I had to do it.

Microsoft and Yahoo enjoy the taint of being severely uncool

While Google mostly "does no harm" (don't get me started on their tendency to censor hot political searches).

Does any corporation resound with stupidity like Microsoft? How's that Zune music player? Gee whillickers! It's like your mom buying you Sear's jeans instead of Levis -- oh, the horror...

I haven't seen dumbness on this scale since AOL and Time Warner decided to mate.

Concorde metal strip from an AA flight lawsuit

Did this ever move forward? Some metal strip fell off an American Airlines flight and was run over or otherwise swept up by the Concorde, leading to a punctured fuel tank and many deaths?

How's the outsourcing of major service work to third-world countries going?

Which group do people have less faith in, the IRS or airlines? At least the IRS doesn't kill you via explosive decompression, et cetera...
