What an incredible coincidence that a Holocaust(tm) movie

would come out just when Israeli is killing Palestinians by the thousand -- how remarkable is that? Beating that ol' Holocaust(tm) drum just when Israel needs to distract people's attention from what they're doing.

It is just so, so incredibly that this movie would come out at this time. It's an amazing coincidence.

Just one of those things I guess. You betcha.

Completely outrageous

Given Cheney's insanely expanded Vice Presidential powers. One can only hope that President Obama will find time to seize Cheney's records (and the former Vice President's passpost).

The records of a public servant's time in office do not belong to the people for posterity's sake? How, exactly, do you figure THAT?

I've never heard a good word about Quicken anything for Mac

It's like the software equivalent of a Microsoft Zune player. I've never heard a good word about ANY Intuit product for the Mac, but I've heard nothing but horror stories about Quicken or its siblings which have allegedly been ported to the Mac.

Excuse me if it was rewritten from the ground up at some point. Otherwise I'd stay far, far away from it.

So many of their lies seem to hinge on 9/11/01

And so many GOP types seem to cling to those 9/11-based lies. Did "Arab terrorists" get the USAF to stand down? No, they did not. Gitmo was a LIE from the word go. It's extremely encouraging to see President Obama correcting wrongs.

A thorough and honest examination of 9/11 would be useful. Perhaps Bush43 and Cheney could be bothered to testify under oath this time around. That may be too much to hope for. At this time.

When does the US get a few missiles in its territory?

Or when does some other country invade and capture Our Supreme Leader a la Noriega? The door DOES swing both ways, yes?

WTF are we doing?

Focus on the real issue here

"Does Israel have a right to defend herself?" is the favored distraction, I believe.

That's where certain parties would like to corral the debate. A more concrete question would be "Does Israel have a right to exist on stolen land with a ring through the nose of the USA?"

Remember, it's not a war crime when Israel does it. What are you, some kind of Nazi anti-semite or something?

Original article: You don't have mail

Speaking off third-party e-mail...

Did Karl Rove succeed in deleting every last backup of his off-site, third-party e-mails? I remember seeing a photo of him leaving the offices of the ISP looking very pleased, so I assume he'd been passing a big electromagnet over their backup tapes all afternoon...

Pluck your magic twanger, Froggy

Junk mail ought to be eliminated entirely -- Americans during resources into shit at its finest. Raise the junk mail rates until the Post Office turns a profit, if that's what Congress thinks the Framers intended (it is not, btw).

NO JUNK MAIL!!! How much money in bribes/"campaign contributions" keeps the river of garbage flowing?

How about if ordinary people rose up and killed their governments en masse?

Think this through: governments past a certain size become 70s-Elvis-sequined-jumpsuit monstrosities. Freedom FROM government ought to be the primary human right.

The whole of the military ought to be positioned on beaches, facing outward, holding knives. And left there forever. No more corporate wars for them to fight. No more mercenaries. Just stand there and wait for an invasion.

Why people don't rise up and shake off their governments is beyond me. Poppies? Opium? Poppies are a crop that can be turned quickly. Afghan farmers cannot afford to plant and grow regular crops and turn to opium poppies to make ends meet.

What are we doing in Afghanistan, exactly? Still propping up Unocal and their pipeline?

Bring them home, disarm them, find them real jobs that don't involve killing people in third-world countries.

Precisely what I was thinking.

Kurt Warner was HoF material from right out of the gate

It's a shame the Rams' substitute center broke Warner's finger. It was worse when the Rams pulled up anchor and drifted to wherever you'd call where they are today, they lost the incredible team and coaching staff that Dick Vermeil had put together. They refused to compensate the team after the Super Bowl victory.

Kurt Warner has a unique, dynamic style of play that took the NFL by surprise in 1999. That he was at the helm of the Cards this past season as they made it to the Super Bowl speaks well of his longevity.

Hall of Fame? Oh hell ya.

Remember the GOP largely accepted Sarah Palin as a valid VP candidate

If Grover Norquist says it, it must be so. Ask Rush. Ask the other to-me-unknown right-wing talk show hosts. Hell, yes, that's right. Grover Norquist said so.

It was Clinton's fault. It was the liberal media. It doesn't matter how thin the paper-mâché nor how unlikely the architecture. It's a matter of belief. The faithful accept their programming without question.

Corn for biofuel works for Big Agriculture.

As does hydrogen, provided you have Big Oil providing the hydrogen. New technologies? Nah, same old corporations lining up to collect more money. Not that much of a change.

Be proactive

Frag an officer. Worked in Viet Nam. Suicide is, after all, merely an introverted murder.

Original article: The change we don't want?

Bail what out? Bail whom out?

Banks who knew better than to make poor investment decisions? Why "bail" them out at all? Let them reap what they've sown. Propping up our national Ponzi scheme won't postpone the inevitable.

This morning my young daughter had two dollar bills for a school event. I asked her what they were worth. She correctly answered "the paper they're printed on."

It IS nice paper, high cotton fiber content. How much GOLD is it worth, and where do I exchange my paper money for gold? Do we have enough gold for everyone, everywhere, to redeem their worthless paper money for solid, tangible gold?

If we do not, they it is a Ponzi scheme.

Congratulations, world, you have finally grown up.
