Original article: Cheney's way

How was Ceasar killed?

Did the members of the Roman Senate not all give him a stab apiece? Why would this not work today? Cheney is clearly out of control and a genuine danger to what's left of the Republic.

Original article: "Is our children learning?"

People revel in their own stupidity and ignorance

In the land of the blind, is the one-eyed man king? No, of course not, he is hunted down and his one eye is torn out of its socket for his own good.

I'm reconsidering sobriety -- perhaps the only way to live contentedly in the USA is to be permanently intoxicated to the point where thought is not an option. Just stand there drooling with a made-in-China plastic flag in your hand as the 4th of July parade rolls by...

Original article: Bloomberg's ambitions

Israel would appreciate a Jewish President

Why, yes I think it can be very easily done...

Thursday, June 21, 2007 12:26 PM

So if he's not part of the executive...

Then he's part of the legislative? Can the Senate vote to toss him out of office? And into a cell @ Gitmo for a lifetime of torture -- er, I meant "debriefing"??

Seriously. He is surrendering his tenuous hold on "executive privilege," is he not? So let's see those visitor logs when Big Oil dictated energy policy.

ENOUGH of this bastard, can we get the Dems a spine transplant so that these corrupt and evil devils can be scraped off the shoe of the US already!??!?!

Original article: The CIA's torture teachers

Is this news?

The School of the Americas was replaced/renamed by/as the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation in January of 2001. How many innocent Central Americans died at the hands of people trained there?

This isn't news. It's standard operating procedure with fresh victims.

Legalize everything

Black markets exist to overprice commodities. If people want to use cocaine hydrochloride, let them. They will anyway. Legalize it. Case closed. Imagine the money that would be saved. Ah, but that's not the point, is it?

Original article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily

Vin Scully

One of the best sportscasters I've ever heard. He can even make golf sound interesting.

He's the last, best vestige of the glory days of the Dodgers. God bless him.

The US is guilty of torture

Chalk this up with other deep sources of national shame, slavery, using nuclear weapons on civilian targets, firebombing civilian targets during WWII, Vietnam... et cetera, et cetera... yet we someone see ourselves as shining paragons of goodness. Jesus.

Whom are we kidding?

The only way to REALLY eradicate an e-trail is to disassemble the hard drives and smash the platters with a hammer. And does it even come into play that would be illegal? Rove is guilty as hell on this one, initially by using outside ISPs to route e-mail, secondly by lying and destroying evidence. Was he not photographed leaving the ISP's office after this latest pile of shit hit the fan?

Can Karl Rove not be executed as treasonous scum based on existing circumstantially evidence?!

Nothing doing

No sale. No way. She's as duplicitous and as slippery as they come. If it weren't for Guilani she'd be the most despicable candidate running. If it weren't for Cheney she'd be the most hated person in America. DO. NOT. WANT.

Iran is within its rights to pursue nuclear power

Israel, OTOH, has a nuclear ARSENAL. Does anyone see the difference, or am I just acid-damaged?

Iran exports oil. Iran wants nuclear POWER to generate electricity so it has more oil to export. Israel doesn't have oil to export. Israel does have a secret nuclear WEAPONS program.

Is it OK for other nations to have a "debate" about whether or not to bomb the nuclear programs in the US or in Israel? No? Why not?

That all the GOP candidates aside from Ron Paul would be jumping up and down like primates with erections trying to out-do one another regarding attacking Iran strikes me as more than a bit worrisome. This country has gone insane.

Why bother?

Protest is essentially outlawed, violent protest will be considered "terrorism" by the goon squads (notice your local PD is militarized by this time?)... why bother? Israel? Such nice people! You cannot criticize Israel at all, ever. Of course Israel does not wield undue influence over the US Congress... why bother? Have a drink. Enjoy the ride.

If George says Iran is evil, then they must be evil. Nuke 'em. It's not terrorism or genocide when *we* do it. After all, GOD is on our side. Everyone knows this.

Have a drink. Make it a strong one. Me, I'll be cleaning my guns and waiting for martial law.

You can't DO this to me! I'm a NEOCON!!!

Tragic. Not.

"He will set voting rights back fifty years"

It's good to know that America is in no danger of running out of fascists. Where does Bush43 keep finding these guys? HELL, NO I don't want von Sakovsky anywhere NEAR the FEC!

Why does the US have a "Holocaust Museum"?

And why is the US Holocaust Memorial Museum funded @ the Cabinet level? Why was it built before either a Native American museum or a WWII Veteran's Memorial?

You can drink the Kool-Aid and still marvel at those facts.

Original article: I love L.A.

Abandoned cities

I spent a lot of time in LA. Vestiges of a mythic, tragic collapse sometime in the 40s remain, primarily on smoggy November days. There's something there, but it's like hunting for a ghost. Embrace it, take it for what it is. Life among the ruins. Until the Dodgers move or disband, it'll be a going concern. The City of the Mother of the Queen of the Angels. Somebody's quinceƱera is this coming Sabado. It'll be a big deal. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Which African Crisis it this?

I've lost count over the decades. Is this one worse or not as bad as the fifty preceding it?

Not to sound too much like P.J. O'Rourke, but I just Googled "stable African regime" and came up with zero hits.

Monday, June 11, 2007 09:15 AM

War crime isn't terrorism?

Joe Lieberman (Senator from Tel Aviv) is advocating a war crime. Why is he in ANY public office? Worse, why are all but one GOP candidates eagerly barking about using WMDs on a country which hasn't done jack shit to us?

Am I on drugs? Is this reality? It is WRONG to advocate invading another country. And don't even try and introduce that mistranslated "Map" nonsense. Read the raw translation. MSM propaganda.
