We're All Targets Now

Way, way back in 2001, Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld declared the entire planet a battlefield in the 'war on terrorism.' For generations.

If all the planet is a battlefield, there are no more civilians. There are only combatants, fighting for their lives against 'terrorists.'

Ironically, if the all the world's citizens are now combatants in the 'war on terrorism' then, technically, terrorism has been eliminated, since there are no more civilians to terrorize...

So... what day is the 'War on Terrorism' V-Day parade scheduled for?

Longest War Ever

34,000 separate Christian groups have been identified in the world.

Does that seem 'reasonable,' either in a Western way or a non-Western way or in any way whatsoever? There's how many Christian Gods again? 1? 34,000?

Wonder how long it takes for 34,000 Christian groups to put aside their differences and join God's Army in the fight against God's Other Army?

Yeesh... talk about your perpetual wars for perpetual (or, in this case, eternal) peace...

Israel right or right

"If someone was stealing tens of billions of dollars while attempting to foreclose on my house where my daughters were sleeping at night, I would do everything to stop him, and I would expect all Americans who are sick of being screwed to do the same thing."

Off-topic, but still... meanwhile, polls also showed that WTP were opposed to the illegal Iraq invasion, Guantanamo, tax cuts for the wealthy, telecom immunity, all pre-TARP 'rescues,' TARP, and virtually every other issue 'our' Congress has given the big thumbs up on these past eight years, except maybe the peanut-sized min. wage increase. IOW, just more proof that WTP are simply not part of the equation.

Still searching for a solid answer to this question: Why is the company line Israel right-or-right? GG explains that this is the case, but fails to explain why it's the case...?

Law and Order - White House Intent

Since so many below the "top leaders" are culpable and, thus, not willing to investigate, a prosecutor could offer some tasty plea deals - a wrist slap or two, the dreaded Congressional "censorship" - in exchange for lots more hard evidence for the already mountain-sized pile.

Of course, if I were part of the Bush/Cheney legal team, I'd be prepared with this trump card: Congress never declared "war," and the USA is not now, nor has it been since WWII, in a state of declared war, either officially or Constitutionally. Hence - no war, no war crimes. Case closed. Now let's get back to building that Bush Freedom Institute down Dallas way...

With great power comes FEAR?

"But with great power comes a lot of pressures as well, starting with great fear: The fear that through inaction you'll be responsible for the deaths of thousands or even millions of the Americans whose lived you were personally charged to protect. This fear ran wild the post-9/11 Bush Administration..."

This fear rationalization is twisted bullshit, too. The definition of leadership is courage - as in, the courage to do the "right" thing IN SPITE of all fears. Anyone with "great power" who says, "Oops, sorry I killed and maimed tortured those millions of innocents, but, you know, I was afraid," should be stripped of all power, immediately, for being such a pussy.

Plus, this is the "fear" that ran wild in the Bush Administration post 9/11? But not before, even though they were flooded with attack warnings? So Douthat's "great power fear" that "through inaction you'll be responsible for the deaths of thousands or even millions of the Americans whose lives you were personally charged to protect" wasn't present BEFORE 9/11, then, seeing as how Bush/Cheney chose INACTION despite said attack forewarning? Based on Douthat's theory, wouldn't said fear exist the minute one assumed "great power" anyway, since, according to him, it's part of the package?

Does Douthat mean douche-bag in Esperanto?

Here's a good idea for the GOP

If the GOP really wanted to help American workers, they would deport all them illegal immigrants so us "most productive workers in the universe" could grab us one of them tasty $4/hour strawberry-pickin jobs, some of which include affordable tent rentals!

Oh, why can't the UAW just shut up and thank God for whatever pennies the overlords are willing to toss over the side of the castle?

Original article: The Sarah Palin pity party

Tough as what now?

Leave the woman alone already - hell, she almost graduated from Matanuska-Susitna College once. Sure, it's not Ivy League, but still...

But, come on, "tough as nails?" Must be the street smarts picked up in bad-ass Wasilla... seriously, just because one passionately defends their lies, refuses to entertain any ideas that do not match their own, and tends to spout generic kill-em-all neo-con nonsense doesn't make one "tough as nails." Although I did hear she won the Tough As Nails portion of some beauty contest a few years back...

Why is it a "sexist" question???

Why is it "sexist" to ask about the challenges being a mother of 5 and Vice President present? Webster defines sexist as: a man with a chauvinistic belief in the inferiority of women. Asking whether anyone, man or woman, can handle Assistant Leader of the Free World while parenting 5 kids certainly does not fit this definition.

Seriously, according to the Humane Society, a ferret requires at least 3 hours of attention per day. A ferret! One single ferret! We're talkin 5 human kids here (okay, 4, since one's off to join the God-willed yet still illegal occupation of Iraq,) not some damn cute rat, while working at least 10-12 hours a day under extreme pressure! But if someone asks how such a feat could possibly be accomplished, suddenly they're "a man with a chauvinistic belief in the inferiority of women"?

Maybe it's all a set-up - after McCrazy wins, God's gal will announce she's decided to retire in order to spend more time with her family, and McShameful will "ask" Cheney to return to his "not an entity within the executive branch" position...
