[paraphrasing]can't imagine another country electing such an oppressed minority...
South Africa elected Mandela in 1994.
...But he sure as well was "oppressed"...
What with all the chatter about potential SLOTEO appointees.
I've heard he's thinking about RFK Jr. for the Head of the EPA.
That'd be some change I can believe in.
N/T
...so little time.
Thanks for giving me something to do, Glenn. I finally took the step of dropping my subscription to my MSM rag, so I need you more than ever.
Do miss my sudoku, though.

This linky (in the post)
http://glenngreenwald.blogspot.com/2006/08/grading-law-professors-apologies-due.html
is a MUST READ for anybody who might've glossed over it.
Glenn, has Kerr ever responded to your substantive criticisms of his oh-so-civil rationalizations? Other than to allow his supporters to summarily dismiss you w/ accusations of hackery?
Howzat for an awkward segue?
Vincent Bugliosi was talking about trying GWB for Murder if he (Bugliosi) could find a sympathetic State AG. I believe the AG candidate for Vermont? stepped up to the plate and said they would file the requisite charges if elected.
Does anybody know how that played out? Was it the Vermont candidate I'm thinking of? Bueller? Anyone?
...the "Rahm Emmanuel is necessary to prevent Pelosi & Reid from yanking Obama left" meme.

Click the linky, it's humorous.
And by the way, that would be For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge - and as far as I know, that story's an urban myth.
Inside jokes turn everybody off. "Everybody" meaning "me". Unless I'm in on it. That's what I get for not paying attention.
Glenn, Salon/you can't track IP addresses?
The audio to that bit has been around for years.
My fave is "Why don't you run outside and play Hide & Go..."
'cause I know for a fact that he, at times, has wanted to say F*CK YOU! to any number of commenters. Present company excluded, of course.
Maybe he didn't actually say it, but he wanted to...
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=petard
Word History: The French used pétard, "a loud discharge of intestinal gas," for a kind of infernal engine for blasting through the gates of a city. "To be hoist by one's own petard," a now proverbial phrase apparently originating with Shakespeare's Hamlet (around 1604) not long after the word entered English (around 1598), means "to blow oneself up with one's own bomb, be undone by one's own devices." The French noun pet, "fart," developed regularly from the Latin noun pēditum, from the Indo-European root *pezd-, "fart."
Beans, beans, good for petards...
Jeezuz, man. How about every morning, all Glenn's readers can pop off about whatever topic they, personally, feel was not addressed to their satisfaction?
And then get ticked off at GG when he fails to acknowledge how they have his best interests at heart.
Would that make you feel better?

And if he DOES, please consider this my preemptive "Glenn, dammit, you didn't talk about what I think you should be talking about" post.
For the record, I'm not sure what I think he ought to talk about this morning.
Dogs, maybe.
Good luck w/ that, methinks.
In TX they have these bizarre (to me) "straight ticket" options on the ballot - you can literally, w/ a single stroke of your pen, vote for every single candidate in either one of the two Corporatist parties.
Here's how I'd like to tweak that concept just a little bit. Keep the "straight ticket" idea. Only you can vote for "Incumbents", or "Challengers".
Needs work, I know, sometimes there's more than one Challenger - but at least there ought to be a way to say "Off w/ their Heads!" with a stroke of the pen.
Too much material to work with.
All Hail OS.

Glenn, You seem terribly eager to criticize the Congress, when OS is not yet president. Could we wait to tar and feather them until after, say, the coronation?

Obama appears "weak, afraid" to punish Lieberman. In 10..., 9..., 8...

Oddly, I tend to agree w/ the gist of it.
And nobody here is talking about what I think they should be talking about.
I expected better of this place.

At least for those EOs that fall within this time-frame...
It could take Obama years to undo climate rules finalized more than 60 days before he takes office — the advantage the White House sought by getting them done by Nov. 1. But that strategy doesn’t account for the Congressional Review Act of 1996.The law contains a clause determining that any regulation finalized within 60 days of congressional adjournment — Oct. 3, in this case — is considered to have been legally finalized on Jan. 15, 2009. The new Congress then has 60 days to review it and reverse it with a joint resolution that can’t be filibustered in the Senate.
In other words, any regulation finalized in the last half-year of the Bush administration could be wiped out with a simple party-line vote in the Democrat-controlled Congress.
Reading your stuff sometimes induces an instantaneous, massive headache.
Today's one of those days.
OS hasn't even been coronated, and the Dems still suck. At least, it appears they do, until confirmed by the results of (Tuesday's?) secret ballot.
Thanks for the reminder...
