Your post was effectively non-responsive

But the anger is palpable.

Peace.

You'll hear nothing more from me.

Diana Powe (sp?) was always one of the more thoughtful commentators hereabouts.

Haven't heard from her lately...

And I don't generally respond to known retards, but please, everyone, follow Norbit's [5:23] linky so you can see what a fucking jerk-off he really is with his "misleading" bullshit.

From what I can tell, "somebody" sent the Politico opposition research on Palin, which included her S.S.# w/ the last four digits redacted. Maybe (or maybe not, the linky at Redstate didn't work) the Politico published said oppo research. Somehow, in Norbit's twisted lizard brain, this became Democraps publishing Palin's S.S.#

And now for something completely different...

I wonder what GG will have to say, if anything, about THIS

@ EMStoveken

I'm considered by many who know me to be rather cynical/paranoid.

And you just sent one helluva shiver down my spine. How do you sleep at night? ;)

Io - don't forget this one

MCCAIN: "She's been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America's energy supply ... She's responsible for 20 percent of the nation's energy supply. I'm entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America," he said in an interview with ABC News' Charles Gibson.

THE FACTS: McCain's phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but she's no more "responsible" for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where Alaska is the largest state in America, McCain could as easily have called it the 47th largest state — by population.

I'm in complete agreement w/ the whole "largest state" argument, because, hell, if "size" mattered, I'd be KING of the F*CK!NG UNIVERSE!

My head's about to explode.

Other than that, no comment.

Glenn, an O/T question for you. I reread "How Would a Patriot Act" last night. No particular reason, I'm just a glutton for aggravation, I guess. But my question is - have you considered doing an updated epilogue, and posting it somewhere?

Or do you think your subsequent (to the book being published) posts on Padilla, the MCA, retro FISA immunity, etc. serve that purpose? I, for one, would like to here your summation on how things have played out since HWAPA. Perhaps, it's just to painful an exercise.

Glad to hear you got back safely.

Related question(s)

Is Rachel Maddow's first show tonight?

Has MSNBC been promoting it on-air at all? I stppped watching KO after Alter's inane and uncontested FISA-related comments, but the MSNBC website had nuthin' promotional about Maddow that I could find...

My own question, about Rache Maddow.

I didn't see your question about blockquote until after I posted. I do have an answer for you, though, to whit -

damned if I know. I have the same problem.

Monday, September 8, 2008 09:15 AM

Somebody pointed out earlier

that KO had initiated the "discussions".

If KO and Tweety are still going to serve as "analysts", is MSNBC perhaps just doing a little CYA? What if KO and Tweety are still sitting there w/ Gregory, still performing their schtick whilst DG impersonates the actual journalist? Is that a possibility? Does anybody know, definitively, what's going to happen?

Tuesday, September 9, 2008 07:10 AM

I wish I felt your "pain"

This made me laugh.

...as the media gossip site Jossip recently (and, for me, quite painfully) noted... Greenwald, who often gets trashed talked in pundit circles and at media parties

Hell, I remember having a discussion about about Journalism in 8th grade (at a small NYS public school) during which the overriding message was that the role of a journalist was to seek the truth, particularly in regard to statements made by the government.

Don't they teach that in Journalism School any more?

Tuesday, September 9, 2008 07:12 AM

Come to think of it, though, I had a somewhat "subversive" English teacher.

She was the first person I ever heard utter the words "Noam Chomsky". And she was from the Netherlands.

Tuesday, September 9, 2008 10:48 AM

Back in, and I'm apparently SHOCKINGLY insensitive...

After a quick scan of the letters, am I about the only person who found Glenn's shtick to be really funny this morning?

I started chuckling , oh, I don't know, along about the second sentence of the first paragraph...

Thanks for the Chomsky linky. I'll have to carve out some time to watch the whole thing.

Reilly, you makea me laugh!

"He put his dipstick in that pig!"

Yeah I know, it's horrible. I can't wait to see some people I know clutch their pearls and faint dead away.

hrh, e_p

I didn't read the Kamiya thing. The headline conveyed enough "info" so I knew I'd have zero interest.

I guess I have to ask, is it sexist if I insult someone of the opposite gender? Or does it require sexual innuendo in order to be categorized as such?

I'm not somebody who routinely disparages women as a group. To the limits of my self-awareness, I don't generally disparage any groups other than those self-declared flat-earthers posing as conservatives.

But I'd have no problem using Reilly's rejoinder, especially in front of certain female Republicans I know. Admittedly, a bit of the appeal is the "shock" value.

e_p: Does that make me sexist? I'm not being a wise-ass. I'd really like to know what you think.
