This is not a rhetorical question

Can anyone recall a campaign train wreck comparable to the one we've just witnessed?

Here We Go

Obama, perhaps ill-advisedly, said today he will "continue to refine" his proposed policies for troop withdrawals from Iraq. Ill-advised because you might expect that nuance to be seen as opening the door to backtracking on his withdrawal plans.

Sure enough, overheated coverage of his remarks has followed this afternoon.

Obama has just finished a second press availability to clarify his initial remarks.

I believe it was Walter Sobchak who said something along the lines of

Say what you will about National Socialism, at least it was a frackin' ethos.

GG

Thanks for the linky to the Galloway article, excellent stuff.

Although I concur w/ your analysis/approach regarding how to best apply what little leverage "we" (contributors) have against the Blue Dogs/FISA capitulators - I'm guessing the majority would like to see at least some of the money used for an immediate gesture - "feel good" and ineffective though it may be.

I'm off to argue w/ my neighbors about the meaning of Patriotism.

BTW, Jesse Helms is dead. I won't sully this space w/ the malogy I customarily deliver for his ilk.

You've still gotta vote for me! I'm SLOTEO!!

I'm willing to wager pointus was posing a rhetorical question

But WTF do I know?

One particular quote in this article really bugs the bejeezuz out of me.

Also, begs the question. Why (Edwards)?

I've done a 180 regarding him (Edwards - his stance on mj in '04 completely alienated me). Wish he was the nom.

That's the bit.

Maybe it is too true. Or "true enough". But the whole Politics as Sport thing really bothers me. And to have a Poli Sci prof slapping their imprimateur on that concept is irksome.

Is that what's taught in Poli Sci? Politics as Sport?

Another of a myriad of reasons this country is one giant cock-up.

bBart

You're putting is too much attention on the telcom immunity, and not enough on the warrentless data searches.

Once again, do you even read Glenn's posts before you pop off?

GG has enumerated in excruciating detail the myriad shortcomings of the FISA travesty w.r.t. warrantless data searches. Go back and read the posts.

RE: this inane comment

Most people don't care about the immunity.

How many polls has Glenn provided that would lead one to the exact opposite conclusion?

What evidence do you have to substantiate your comment?

Presuming you did have something other than bupkis to support your statement, what possible relevance would it have to the discussion. IOW, who gives a rat's ass?

You're Bart to me.

@RMP

The insurance story you posted managed to rise my ire considerably. Thanks!

That's the key fact underpinning SLOTEO's Secret Prosecutorial Plan.

Awklib, nice linky

Hope, yet? I think pow wow mentioned that one needs 60, as opposed to a simple majority? Don't ask me how/why.

BTW @GG typo

and the "brazeness" of the lying (and that's what it is) to justify this bill -- that's notable here.

Saturday, July 5, 2008 05:23 PM

Hey, Kirk

Fuck off.

Or email me your physical addie will ya? I have a Cor-Bon 9mm 115 grain +P JHP I'd like to send you to use.

On yourself.

Saturday, July 5, 2008 06:36 PM

@gpj NOW you've gone and done it!

Mr. Mooser!?

Between that and the Greenwald Irregulars invitation he got today, his antlers won't even fit through the Saloon doors any more...

Saturday, July 5, 2008 07:07 PM

yeah, you said something earlier today that cracked me up...

...and I almost mentioned it.

But then I figured no good would come of piling on.

Monday, July 7, 2008 02:05 PM

The wait is short, and time is running out!

As LT Bohica Monday, July 7, 2008 12:33 PM mentions, w/ phone numbers and everything - there's still time (and arguably, now IS the time) to call Harry Reid's office about the FISA travesty.

Tuesday, July 8, 2008 07:19 AM

GREAT Ad and ? re: GG on the Radar

Glenn, I think it's appropriate to pose this question publicly:

If I send you (physically located outside the U.S.) an email to your Salon addie, is it subject to examination under the rules of FISA? What if it said something to the effect of

"That Money Bomb will really help fuck Bush and his cronies! The Demoncraps will die when they realize their capitulation will result in the end of their political reign of Terror, as we target the Blue Dogs, individually and collectively, for elimination.

Handy FISA calling tool

From Chris Dodd:

Look, hero

If you want to have a discussion w/ whomever about whatever, however heated, that's heartily encouraged.

Just don't delude yourself into thinking there's some audience out there, hanging onto your every riposte w/ bated breath. I'll wager there's an audience of precisely one that gives a good goddam, since the other one's probably in it for the sheer sport.

On second thought, PLEASE continue the WATB titles. It makes it incrementally easier to scroll on by.
