I am gay guy living in LA, but I'm an American first, and I wasn't happy with Senator Craig's resignation at all. I don't care about his voting record. Nobody's voting record or beliefs are going to change the way I feel about myself. If I ever feel discriminated against, I stick up for myself, and I have never been knocked down. If I feel something is denied me unfairly, I just take it, one way or the other, I take it! Craig was entrapped. He is finding out the hard way what discrimination feels like, and maybe for him, this whole affair will prove to be a God-send. I hear he may fight for his seat. Good for him! I support him 100 percent.

I just read here in a comment that transgendered people were involved at stonewall. I didn't know that. I knew one of the participating patrons, Marsha P. Johnson, a transsexual, but she never mentioned transgendered people being present. Does anybody out there have proof of this one way or the other, just for the record, for it doesn't matter really? The label 'gay' was fine. 'Queer' doesn't bug me either, my preference, but IwillBCnUndrag or whatever ridiculous moniker the gay community has to lug around with just seems queer to me, somehow prissy, but that's another sub-group altogether. Transgendered people are not bi, (no such thing anyway) nor are they gay men, or gay women. The transgendered movement is maturing fast as far as acceptance in the broader community is concerned but this is because more people are coming out now. As a sub-class of people, they are in mortal danger, so I say - keep them with us - if they'll have us - we can afford to offer our political power to all who suffer. Protect them and anybody else who needs our formidable unstoppable power. Geeez ... we fags can be so selfish sometimes.

I believe the actions of the Bush Administration, along with it's policies, thievery, and it's general libelous thuggery, which have already been verified, are more than enough reasons to bring Bush and his administration to court for crimes against humanity and treason against the state. My opinion as an outsider looking in isn't based on politics at all. Both parties have good ideas, and bad ones, and neither party is the answer to the question, how does our nation move into the future with half a chance at prosperity and happiness without helping to destroy the planet? President Carter is, of course, infinitely wise, and as a bold, brilliant and powerful humanistic elder-statesman is beyond reproach. If history survives to be told, President Carter will be remembered as one of our nation's golden sons, not, as our current president, an unenlightened crusader for a unjustifiable and insane agenda, (no matter how good his intentions are). Cheney, on the other hand, will not ever be spoken of at all except in the same breath along with the great tyrants of the millennia.

When some people speak, sometimes the words they utter simply resonate with a truth so profound, obvious and refreshing that not even fred-thompson-type lobbyists can smear the conjured images that shatter our trite lives. Mr. Maher is my new hero, the others simply died from illusions, my illusions. I see the whole thing a win-win situation. If the great satanists scare the mediocre thinkers of america into yet another four years - or eight - of shear horror - perhaps our species will wipe itself out - which is starting to look like what the universe needs the most. So - either way - plant earth wins!

So ... if I understand this article correctly, wild fires are not as threatening as they are necessary. So maybe I am not such an idiot for hoping upon hope that the whole state of California is torched to ash. Not so much because it a good thing for the environment, but because most of the people here are as dumb as they are in the rest of the country, and who needs exploding populations of dunces marring the view of legitimately conceived without sin entitled human beings such as myself?
