you got to be kidding me

How fucking delusional are you people? So everyone in the WTT was killed because of karma? The government is now killing five people to cover up torture, when they could have had them had an accident or just flat out killed them years ago? Even though the most damning information about torture has been out for years. As far as the article goes, I'm failing how to see this military trial leaves justice in doubt. I'm sorry to disappoint a great many of you readers, but the world is not built on conspiracies . they happen, for sure but this continuance of 9-11 conspiracies and questioning individuals who claim guilt is getting a bit old.Surely we have better things to do then justify terrorists by giving them open invitations and putting off their actions as merely victims of big bad American policy. Seven years of excuses conspiracies and victimhood have worn thin with this article. thanks for reading.

Willing to become a facist state

Wow, very emotional posts here today. But are any of you actually thinking about what you are writing? "Truth Commissions" that act in secret finding out information about people. That sounds like some other political agencies from history...Oh that's right the SS and KGB among the various other groups in history that used power of political majority to tract down and keep "tabs" on those who might be doing wrong in the eyes of the power holders.

Alot of you are so angry at the Bush administration that you are willing to form your own facist government in order to battle the perceived facist government of Bush. Turning over complete control to one party is wrong...as many of you point out when it's republicans, but when it is your party that is control that becomes okay?

The fact that so many of you can spend your days posting these posts saying with impunity what you want (torturing Bush, killing this or that republican, the ignorance of anyone who doesn't agree with your or is too much to the right) should show the freedoms that still exist in this country and that it isn't a dictatorship sans any personal liberties. But this our way or it's the wrong way attitude of alot of liberals on this site seem guilty of the same wrongdoings that you accuse the right of. So let me ask this of all of you if this dichotomy Good vs. Evil of the Bush administration is so wrong, why do so many of you want to implant the liberal dichotomy that seems to run rampant on this site?

I don't have any answers to what the right path is but just want to give a little warning. Those of you who have this extreme left ideas over what is the right path are the reasons so many people are scarred of liberals. What little "right" media is left picks up on this and the average citizen is as scared by you as any terrorist. You claim to be for freedoms of speech, right to choose, etc, but only when those choices are in line with what you believe. So if the mentality of the "cowboy" Bush and all those "stupid hillbillies" that voted for him are wrong, how is your way of thinking any better. It's the same "our way or the highway" mentality and doesn't leave me much hope no matter who is in office next. And now to end with an ad homen attack: Maybe it's not the right that are the stupid, blind, obedient lap dogs, just a thought.

And since any one with a different opinion is considered a troll or a repug let me clear the air. I'm a liberal leaning conservative, not a republican, who loves this country and believes if people were more motivated by intelligence and the right but sometimes tough choices (this is for both parties who seem so concerned with knee jerk political alliance and faux outrage over anything the other party does) this country would be the beacon it was supposed to be.

@ The Fool

You are an idiot -- a completely disingenuous asshole. Fuck off.

How am I disingenuous? Is it because you don't agree with what I say or is it because you know me personally and are an astute judge of my character. since you don't know me I'm guessing it's the previous reason.

Am I disingenuous because I lean to the right but find myself on a very left news site. Or perhaps I just enjoy getting as many views on events as possible. I want to know what all factions are thinking, luckily since I was a victim of the mortgage meltdown i now have the time to pursue and get all the various takes on the news to my heart's content.

But The Fool please explain to me how I am disingenuous since your initial attack was lacking in any substance other then being Ad Homen. I would like to understand what leads you to this revelation.

@ The Fool

My concern with the Truth Commission or any organization sponsered by the government, is a agency that acts in secret to bring to justice those who have committed wrongs. Further when this agency only reports to one person and is created with political agenda in mind, where said crimes can take on a political and/or ideological slant, the slope becomes real slippery at that point.

I don't even have to Deconstruct the word truth and all the problems of using such a divisive and ideological word for a title of a political agency; let alone the implications of such a group digging up dirt on opposing politicians and political parties with the intent of prosecution. The Fool if you can't even at the most basic level see how that can be misused and yes turned into a Facist form of control, well then you should perhaps begin to question your own intelligence before looking at others.
