Sorry Bamage...
[Read the article: Shocking new revelation: Unchecked government powers get abused]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I am too busy and self-absorbed with my moral posturing (killing people is bad, golden rule, Moral Equivalence, you know, quaint shit) and calling out LWM/WT's Warmongering Apologensia doublespeak aka I'm "solipsistic". Or I am too busy rambling about the "Gold Standard" or something, NOT "Central Banking and fiat money are bad, one reason being that they enable Death Merchants and Warmongers by letting cowardly leaders create credit instead of tax the people for their wars", but merely "GOLD STANDARD = GOOD! I WUV GOLD! IT'S SHINY!", because that is the ONLY alternative in WTs world of "nothing is black and white except when it comes to the decision choices I lay out for every example I give."
Nothing is black and white... except the two decisions that WT comes up with as the only choices for any given situation, i.e. his choice, and the other choice, and that's it, e.g. The US either has to "Meddle in the Affairs of Every Country on Earth because 'being human means participating' and not participating is not valid and antisocial" (like WT argues), or "Run away like Ron Paul" (WT's counterargument). No middle ground, except when WT is called on to make a similar decision. Then, when WT might have to take a real stand on something, all of a sudden everything is a gray area as we swim in a cesspool of Moral Relativism, German, and Latin. It's like magic.
Someone claims I only believe that I myself exist, and that only my views exist, yet has no problem pretending, just like everyone else, that "Collateral Damage" doesn't exist, and it is all a simple matter of being "too complex" for us to really understand. "These things (i.e. nothing/collateral damage) happen".

It's scary because it is damn good propaganda and they know it
[Read the article: Why do conservatives really find the Obama campaign "scary"?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's kind of sad is what it is though.... or maybe I'm just too cynical...... Three minutes and all Obama says is:
"We are the ones we have been waiting for"x3
Orwell would be proud. It's all about "Changing America's Face to the World", but they forgot the rest.... "so that they tolerate our Democracy Spreading and Military Bases". If it is all about changing perceptions, why don't we just paint smiley faces on our bombs. Like Depleted Smile Munitions? Then you can change Collateral Damage to Smiles and stories like, "A Depleted Smile struck a house in Somalia. The target wasn't there, but there were some Smiles" sound much happier. You see, DU is sad and just needs some smiles :(
Maybe instead of shaping them like scary gray bombs, we can shape them like ponies and puppies, change those scary soldier uniforms into clown costumes, and paint the bases up to look like big red tents. Cheney can dress up as the Ringmaster and Bush can dance for peanuts while the rest of the Neoconservatives, the Fed Banks, and the House of Saud crank the music box. Then the whole operation in Iraq will more closely resemble a circus. Which it is.

Nice Job getting the story wrong
[Read the article: Ron Paul finally ready to drop out of presidential race]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]He didn't drop out, but that won't stop Salon from copying and pasting what they see from ABC.

Unless the definition of dropping out
And re: "Ron Paul's platform is dangerous"
To who and compared to what? Is it dangerous compared to Intervening wherever we feel like with DU Diplomacy? Is it dangerous compared to Policing the World and sending the CIA into shithole little countries to install tin pot Dictators that we funnel arms to, and maybe some Military Bases? Compared to being perceived by the world as a warmongering police state?
Our current course isn't dangerous at all... Nope, not dangerous at all. In fact, the Savior Obama will make sure that the world perceives us as Good and Moral before we bomb their neighbors back to prehistory.

@thingswesaid
[Read the article: It's 3 a.m. Who do you want answering the phone?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]and he's the one they are all hoping will NOT answer the phone.
That is so wrong I don't even know where to start, but how about starting at the fact that Osama Bin Laden and the rest of the insurgents out there will LOVE having any of them with their finger on the button, be it McCain, Hillary, or Obama, because NONE of them understand the problem and refuse to debate or discuss the issue directly or honestly, instead relying on the "Islamofascists hate us for the NH Primary and Women who go to work and wear short skirts" bs.
Al Qaeda doesn't care which of the three get into office, because all three will do exactly what al Qaeda wants, which is to get involved sticking our fat fingers into every piss and little country on the planet, pissing off the citizens and helping OBL recruit. Nothing serves al Qaeda better than our current foreign policy, because every time we bomb some nothing little country it helps recruit new blood to the cause, and none of the major candidates have any intention of making any changes in this regard.
The only candidate Osama doesn't want in the White House is Ron Paul because he is the only candidate that even understands the problem. Ron Paul is the only one who honestly discusses and understands what the CIA means when it uses the term "blowback", the rest of them will keep Spreading Democracy via bombing scary people, i.e. hypocricy, which is exactly what al Qaeda needs to inspire its followers and recruit more of them.
