You people are so myopic. News Flash: The Military Industrial Complex runs on oil
[Read the article: The car of the future is here]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So we are all going to ride bycicles and live in caves, and spew all these wonderful ideas about how we can all be "green" by changing or giving up our lifestyles, all while the Military Industrial Complex runs on Oil and Depleted Uranium and puts out more emissions than most countries? Wow, that really makes a lot of sense... you people really see the big picture...
Do any of you realize that all of this hybrid, green, electric car babble is bullshit as long as we are running 800+ Military bases in 130+ countrties? Do any of you realize how much pollution would be curbed if we weren't policing the world with fossil fuels and depleted uranium? Why not focus on that first, instead of telling everyone that the sky is falling, that they are evil if they drive an SUV, and that the state needs to basically step in, influence the market with some special interest favor (ethanol), and control our behavior?
Obviously not, as the green babble on Salon pretends like our empire doesn't exist, and that if we drive electric cars it is going to do more than a mousefart compared to the environmental degradation we are putting out with the thousands of tons of depleted uranium munitions we are spewing all over the place and the oil we are burning in order to do it.
Do you honestly think that we can get anywhere riding bicycles while our fucking Military Industrial Complex gets a pass to do whatever it wants and spew DU all over the place? Pull your heads out of the sand and wake up. As long as the American Empire exists, nothing fundamental is going to change. Sure, we might all have to make "sacrifices", ride bikes and ration electricity, but for who? For the Military Industrial Complex? So it can continue with business as usual while we ride bikes and improve the environment out of one side of our mouths, while spreading emissions and DU in countries besides our own from the other side?
Get real.

Don't much up the works
[Read the article: Your Harry Reid-led Senate in action]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]How dare these guys not be so scared of terrorists to give Big Government Inc. its Get Out of Jail Free Card and let it spy on us for our own protection. Do these Mavericks not understand that our entire civilization is at stake? I mean, we are having our PRIMARIES here! There are WOMEN voting in them, women who MAY be wearing short skirts! I bet the terrorists are frothing at the mouth because they are so fucking pissed right now about this, about 15-20% of the population voting in an obfuscated and insecure election process. They Hate Us for Our Freedoms and Super Tuesday is coming! :O
I bet this all comes down to Reid being pro-life, and the Democrats should have seen this coming because being pro-life means he is evil or something. A pro-life Mormon Crypto-Republican. Harry Reid and Joe Lieberman probably go to Bohemian Grove together and badmouth Abraham Lincoln to all of their buddies.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Are you questioning our Democracy Spreading Saudi Friends in the War on Terror? They really do need more than 20B in US weaponry to protect themselves, from themselves.

[Read the article: A GOP thriller in Florida]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]When you are down shadowboxing, why don't you tell us all what your opinion is on the American Empire? Are you happy with 800+ bases in 130+ countries? How cool are secrects?
And don't worry, I know plenty about "math" and "science".

@wild_wife
[Read the article: I'm afraid I'll be unfaithful to my husband]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As someone who has been through a lot of deception and hurt through a long marriage I truly believe honesty is the only path to a happy and fulfilling partnership.
With your attitude it sounds to me like you got exactly what you had coming to and gone down the expected path of all the other moral relativists out there who make pathetic lifestyle choices and then try to claim that their societal construct is the real problem, and not your previously stated nihilism, moral relativism, and pathetic lifestyle decisions.

"Great God, what does it mean?"
[Read the article: Indie box office: "Juno" slammo!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It means that Americans feel that discussing the volume of Abortions in America (or any other country) and the percentage of pregnant women that choose "The Procedure" are a major taboo, and that Boobus Americanus gets enjoyment out of fooling itself and forging its own feel-good reality based on the likes of "Knocked Up" and "Juno". Like pretending when it comes to unplanned pregnancy, Abortion isn't the prevalent choice in these modern times, over half of the time in the US and around three out of four times in China.
