"18,000 Al Qaeda"

Not quite.

...An assessment by France’s highly regarded Paris Institute of Political Studies last week suggested that Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda has likely been reduced to a core group of eight to ten terrorists who are on the run more often than not.

Does Iran really want the bomb?

Who cares if Iran really wants the bomb?

Moreover, the Israelis and some Americans have repeatedly threatened to strike it

American and Israel really want to bomb them.

How Israel Killed UN’s War Crimes Probe

by Jonathan Cook, October 07, 2009

Israel celebrated over the weekend its success at the United Nations in forcing the Palestinians to defer demands that the International Criminal Court investigate allegations of war crimes committed by Israel during its winter assault on the Gaza Strip.

The about-turn, following vigorous lobbying from Israel and the United States, appears to have buried the damning report of Judge Richard Goldstone into the fighting, which killed some 1,400 Palestinians, most of them civilians.

According to the rabid ziocrowd, Richard Goldstone is a SHJ anyway.

the public not-an-option

Mr. Greenwald is just playing the role of shrill partisan blogger.

Defense spending = Good Socialism

Any other spending = Bad Socialism

Good Socialism is bipartisan.

Senate Passes $636 Billion Military Bill

Bill Includes $128.2 Billion for Iraq, Afghan Wars

by Jason Ditz, October 06, 2009

The Senate today voted 93-7 in favor of the $636 billion defense appropriations bill to provide funding to the US military over the fiscal year beginning this month.

The bill includes $128.2 billion in funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and bars President Obama from transferring any of the suspects at Guantanamo Bay to the US for trials.

Half a trillion and a thumb in the eye of the civil liberties extremists, for good measure. A cherry on top of the turd sundae. Somewhere in all of that crap resources that could be spent on or given back to millions of Americans are being flushed down the toilet.

93-7. I always remember war funding votes when I hear scary stories about how divided and partisan our country has become, until you get to the beach.

careful, Stevo23

"And although [it] signs some U.N. treaties and conventions, it refuses to be held accountable."

"But in many areas, the [it] uses its special privileges to obstruct more modern consensus on the usual issues"

Good thing you clarified. That sounds awfully close to being "antisemitic".

Obama has not proven in any way to be an "opening for change".

Not true. Socialism is taking over! Did you see this???

We should all thank the democratic super-majority for having so much class. 2007 will be here any day now, then they'll get things done, with their powers. They'll show ya!

Socialism

The Senate passed a $636 Billion Socialist spending bill, to defend the American public. The public not-an-option. Socialism is ok as long as the state is producing productive and useful things for society, like military bases in foreign countries.

Enjoy it. You voted for it. Good honest folks like Mr. Keillor enable it.

Give it time

Right now they are cutting their teeth on the scum, but the databases and the chips will be aimed at the children, For the Children. To keep them safe and stuff. And then good old common sense will ask, who needs a credit card when you can put all your card numbers on your chip? How convenient will that be. Why not use your chip for all transactions? If you have nothing to hide you shouldn't be scared.

You can pay for goods and services with your chip. Interface with it on your pc or phone. It may even become your pc or phone. Ping your young ones so you know they are safe. It will become ubiquitous, and then we will all be truly fucked. You know, "Owned".

oh yeah? Well I don't see Australia going bankrupt in the mountains of Southwest Asia in order to protect the world!

You want to see selfish

Just look at all of you "me me me" whiners. "I desperately need this Government service. WHAA WHAA!". Then you all have the nerve to cry and whine and mock "selfish Libertarians".

Keep crying losers. Your precious public option is bleeding to death in the mountains of Southwest Asia.

You voted for endless war. You should enjoy it more and stop being so damn selfish whining about your precious fucking health care while your government maims civilians on an almost daily basis.

No public option for the folks maimed by American bombs in far odd lands. The only thing they have to look forward to is starving to death in a refugee camp. They don't even exist to all you selfless healthcare reformers.

You get what you vote for.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009 04:52 PM

"I need it so bad I can't even say anything funny right now. "

Stop being so fucking selfish. We have a necessary war to escalate, a war escalation that Obama voters voted for.

All your whining is in regard to unnecessary luxuries. You should be rationing the little you have for the War Effort, not begging for more handouts.

Where is your patriotism?

Yeah, Americans "care"

About themselves. They vote for bad things, pawns in their plan, then they feel sad when bad things happen.

Yet I'm the cynic. And I am cynical. So what?
