Terrorism is about the little things.

Timothy McVeigh is an example. Terrorist motivations, "blowback", are often overlooked. I am not apologizing for him, just explaining.

McVeigh said he was motivated by two events, Ruby Ridge and Waco, more specifically one person, trigger-happy FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi who was present at both. McVeigh was going to originally go after the sniper and/or his family but became more ambitious and killed 150 Americans. Can one claim that McVeigh, through his behavior, was himself "radicalized"?

Ruby Ridge was one family one sniper. The number of Waco dead is the equivalent of a couple weeks worth of "collateral damage" due to US Foreign Policy. And Dr. Cole "wonders" if another pawn will eventually cross the board.

"You wonder if someone somewhere is writing out a will today." --Juan Cole

Gee I wonder? More pawns for political gamesters. Maybe someone should explain to them how many people die every year from lack of Healthcare and maybe they can feel some empathy and become our pawns? Maybe we can teach their lady folk calculus while exporting their drugs and greasing them up with guns and butter? Maybe more countries can take a page from the Italians and get in the bribery game? Protection rackets are all the rage these days.

Intervention is bankrupt because its dependence on force will always undermine its mission and that's why the Interventionist will tell you that We Have to Do Something Else. Forget that our interventionist policies have caused misery for millions of people over decades, the United States has to restore its pride, to prove itself, that it really can live up to those lofty expectations. We tell ourselves we'll Do Something right this time as we chase the boulder back down the hill, again, only to give it another go and call it Doing Something Else, again. You can see proponents of Doing Something Else chase the boulder every day in these very comments. They forget to mention the bright side, like how we leave a few military bases in our footprints every time we get near the top. How did those get there? Compromise?

Doing nothing is something but not to the Interventionist. We could just walk away in shame to think about things, like we deserve to, but Doing Nothing hurts the Interventionist's feelings because it is perceived as wasting a pride driving opportunity to Do Something, therefore Doing Nothing is paramount to a sin that leads to the evilest evils, say it with me, "OPPRESSION AND GENOCIDE OPPRESSION AND GENOCIDE". Fun and profitable activities that only Interventionists in the US and their friends are allowed to participate in for the benefit of The People or something. It doesn't really matter what matters is that we're the Empire and that's our racket now so you need our blessing. Kiss our rings and we'll splash you with water and you can go have fun and make a buck on the black market at our expense. What a deal.

Our Interventions have brought misery to millions of people in this decade alone and are killing the country. We are just as likely to experience blowback from the $300M "Jundallah" attack than the million dead Iraqis, but did you know that 45,000 people die each year from lack of Healthcare? Isn't that a travesty? Shouldn't we be discussing whether or not the Government should Do Something?

Question for the peacemongers

If Peace Laureate Obama is so peaceful then why isn't he doing peaceful things?

The newest leak is pitching the idea of 45,000 troops as a "middle option", with the "low risk" option being 60,000 troops. Why is Peaceful Obama's midpoint 45,000? Wouldn't zero troops be a more peaceful midpoint?

Zero makes a good midpoint for quite a few things actually, like compromising away the public option. Why is Peaceful Obama compromising on Healthcare while he doesn't appear to be opposed to sending 45,000 more troops? Where is the compromise?

And isn't it a hilarious coincidence that 45,000 people die every year from Healthcare and that is how many troops the General was requesting? If only the Empire had a sense of humor.

Nobody seems to able to be to provide a cogent answer to those questions. My answer is that Obama isn't doing peaceful things because he chooses not to. Pretty simple, but I haven't heard a response that wasn't a trite platitude.

Genital Slicing

From what I've read there are methods to do it that minimizing scarring. A fun little game to spice up the monotony of Empire. I wonder if our innovative torturers sit in the tub, staring at their junk, and it just comes to them like Archimedes? They must be very proud.

What's wrong with the Brits?

Do they want to lose a British city?

And asking Popinshower to google ACLU might be such a great idea he might get a link to this guy...

Lesser of two evils

Ah yes nobody here has any experience with that. Tell me about Sarah Palin and Ralph Nader I can't wait to hear all about David Petraeus.

It appears you do not approve of the Federal Government's interventionist "Do Something" doing stuff policies. Nonintervention is not welcome in serious circles, no glory in doing nothing, no something.

I don't get it either, Mr. Sirota

Lets do the math:

Study: 45,000 Uninsured Die a Year

Ok, 45,000 right? Now watch this:

United States to send 'up to 45,000 more troops to Afghanistan'

45,000 - 45,000 = 0

Original article: "Obama, listen!"

Commader and Chief Obama is listening

To his Generals.

Progressive Agenda? We need to compromise.

45,000 more troops for Afghanistan? Sure thing whatever you want is 45,000 enough how about 60,000 instead?

60k assuming you believe the latest leak.

Here is what you need to do. Start an highly secretive intelligence agency with a black budget. Build about 700 military bases all over the world. Hijack the Government with a false flag operation.

Then maybe Mr. Obama will listen to you too.
