nevermind...

for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker

Oh well, so much for that agenda, or anything that is going to stop the war, the torture, the spying or the lies. AIPAC girl Pelosi has already shown that she won't be stopping the gravy train, whether it be profits from the empire abroad or the police state at home, including Fearless Leader "addressing" the Iranian "issue" before he leaves office.

Lol at Iran fear tactics

What I find amusing about both arguments is that they both rely on American political taboos (and taboos in America in general) in order to be at least somewhat valid.

The claim is that Iran is a threat to Israel if it gets nukes. That is based on the assumption that Israel's "secret" nuke program doesn't exists in public discourse, which it doesn't. It is taboo to mention the Israeli nuclear deterrent, and I imagine doing so would end up causing the antisemitism industry to come down on you, which is the heart of the taboo in the first place. If Israel's nuclear arsenal were treated with more than a wink and a nod by the press than the whole argument would be completely baseless in the public domain, but since speaking negatively of Israel, let alone its nuclear arsenal, is taboo, the Lobby is free to get away with it without much fear of harsh criticism. The good ol' fear of being called antisemitic.

And regarding the claim that Iran is supplying IEDs in Iraq, so what? That is helped out by another taboo, which is the United States' relationship with our "war on terror" friends like Saudi Arabia, a backwards police state run by absolute monarchs, complete with a royal family, which also happens to be one of our "democracy spreading" allies in the "War on Terror". It also happens that SA is supporting (last I'd read) up to 40% of the suicide bombers in Iraq (but of course to Billo it is a "police issue" and not "policy"). The taboo that is being exploited is that we are not allowed to talk about the nature of the regimes that we support through some kind of economic or military aid (military in the case of SA) to maintain hegemony, what those regimes do at home (and sometimes abroad), and how they are perceived in the Middle East by their own people and the people around them. This is true of most of our friends in the region.

So what?

At least I don't hide behind my IP address when addressing others.

@Jim

Don't worry, Jim. If the left, or the right, or anyone needs a false flag, well... that is what the Israel and its Mossad are for.

Remember the USS Liberty.

The good part about being anonymous, nobody knows when you are wrong.

Neither does the crazy guy outside my local 7-11.

Maybe you should consider it.

That's clever, did you think that up all by yourself? Methinks someone has been in a couple of passionate Interwebber flame wars in the past, but if not, welcome to the Internet. Congratulations on your anonymous slurs of others in an Interweb forum, it's just too bad that I can go to the World of Warcraft forums and see people who have been doing it for years and years, and doing it much better, with more more clever remarks, and clever troll tricks like rick rolls.

If you really want to flame me and troll me, be my guest. The way it works is, as long as one of us keeps replying, we both win, and everyone else loses. We get the ePeen of a thread hijack and they get our spam. Fun times. It's just too bad I've already got you on the hook.

Challenge Accepted

But I challenge anyone to watch this back to back with the last few Republican mixers, marked by their long, eccentric detours about dead-end Christian right fixations and waterboarding, and tell me who's most qualified to lead this country.

I accept the challenge. Here is a hint from tonight's debate:

What do I win?

Kucinich was right though, he saw a UFO

Kucinich didn't say he saw an "alien", he saw a UFO. A triangle did he say? Maybe he saw a TR-3B Black Triangle thing that Jeff Rense talks about. Maybe Bigfoot is the pilot. Leave it to MSNBC to throw out the debate zingers. It was about as relevant as when Matthews asked the Republicans what they would do with Bill Clinton.

I can be reasonably sure of one thing that the Democrats learned tonight. Hire more staff to make signs and shill for you so that you don't embarrass yourselves.
