I'm Anonymous, Dammit!

You're right. Libertarians are bad because they want to give all the corporations all the power.

Except for the fact that the Democrats already helped do that. In case you haven't noticed, it's over and done with, we the people have already been sold out. I know it is convenient to ignore this simple reality because it doesn't fit into your conspiracy theory, but tis true.

The corporations own Washington, a quote from a certain Senator is cited quite often suggesting this very thing. There is nothing for Libertarians to give the corporations already own Washington. So what does that make the Democrats and the Progressives that voted put these people in power? Wise?

Come back tomorrow and complain about corporate power even though you vote for politicians that are in the pocket of those very corporations. It's Ron Paul's fault.

It will be hilarious

When those bashing Libertarians come back tomorrow to bitch about fascism and how the Government is owned by the corporations and beholden to big business, about how the Insurance companies are blocking public options.

Remember to blame the Libertarians. It is the fault of Libertarians, they caused the situation we currently find ourselves in, not the politicians and political parties you put into power and vote for over and over again. It was the powerless Libertarians, they caused this mess with their zero seats in the Congress. Not Democrats, they never vote for fascism or sell us out with huge bailouts, they are just trying to advance the progressive agenda, and haven't already sold you out.

"Industrialists and bankers"

Like Murray Rothbard. Mr. Rothbard was a big bankster and a the Federal Reserve's biggest fan.

I find it both pathetic and amusing when folks come up with stupid conspiracy theories about how "Libertarians want turn all the power over to the Corporations", while supporting a central bank, the Federal Reserve, as well as politicians and political parties that HAVE ALREADY GIVEN THE CORPORATIONS CONTROL.

But of course none of you Libertarian bashers see the irony in warning about the dangers of Libertarianism while supporting the Federal Reserve and a Government that has already done the things you are warning about, but it isn't lost on me.

LOL DONT TRUST THE LIBERTARIANS THEY WANT TO GIVE THE CORPORATIONS ALL THE POWER. TRUST US INSTEAD, SUPPORT OUR IDEAS, BECAUSE WE'VE ALREADY GIVEN THE CORPORATIONS ALL THE POWER.

Morons.

Baldie seems stuck in the past. Like a year ago in the past, when everything disagreeable and bad, everywhere, was labeled "neocon".

Remember the neocons? Those evil bastards that were responsible for everything evil? You couldn't read a letters page on Salon that didn't complain about the evil neoconservative neocons.

Now that progressives are wearing war paint it's the Libertarians that are the new bad guys, the Neo-neo-cons.

"Typical neocon"

lol Really? And here I thought it was the progressives that sound just like Bill Kristol when discussing US foreign policy (now that Bush is gone).

My bad. It's Ron Paul and Libertarians who could lift their talking points from Bill Kristol's new foreign policy think tank, and not your fellow travelers. Sure.

yeah, Bill B.

The real goal of modern libertarianism is to give corporations the ultimate power over our lives because in the absence of government regulation and oversight, you always get more corporate power.

Nice conspiracy theory. Looks like you've done and exposed all the Libertarian's real agenda, to apologize for Wall Street. Where did you get your secret conspiracy decoder ring? When you did your decoding, it looks like you left it set to Jew on accident instead of switching it over to Objectivist first.

But what about all of the Libertarians that don't do the things you are claiming? Useful idiots? Who is manipulating them? Who is leading this drive to crown corporations king? Whoever this mastermind is, it must be very secretive because nobody has ever heard of this person.

I've heard about this Dr. Paul being an evil supervillian though, with all sorts of hidden, coded conspiracies underneath his "End the Fed. End the Wars. End the spying. End the torture" rhetoric. Is Ron Paul the leader of the pro-corporate power movement? Is it the Libertarian Alan Greenspan? I'm curious to know.

Yes regulations are so effective...

Except when they don't work because they are ignored, which they are.

Just ask Bernie Madoff since there were already regulations in place but they didn't appear to stop him. Or ask Patick Byrne, but whatever you do don't try and edit Mr. Bryne's wikipedia entry, or the entry on Naked Short Selling. Just tell yourself how useful and effective all of these regulations and rules have been in the past.

Yes, regulation is awesome, the solution to all problems, even when regulations already exist and are simply ignored and the only thing separating the regulators from those they are regulating is a revolving door. Keep talking me about how regulations work "in theory", and I'll remind you how they don't work "in reality" because they can and are simply ignored.

For the most part that battle has already been fought. Many people around here know who Dr. Paul is and agree with him on many things, but he is a polarizing figure so mentioning him by name can lead to some interesting emotional adventures.

There are longstanding disagreements among some regulars here that are directly related to Ron Paul through the principle of nonintervention that Paul espouses.

I understand and will lay off. I could probably head to your post from this morning about religious extremism, which is surely lying on its side by now, having arrived in crazytown and knocked off the rails by the townies.
