Original article: Why Johnny can't code

Oh the memories

There is one advantage of your children not knowing programing. When they call you at work on the phone and ask you how to spell delete, you don't have to ask why?

As Opposed to the American Shtick?

I found this review highly insulting coming from the position of an anglophile myself. This paragraph in particular.

“In America, this shtick appeals to the same sort of Anglophiles who fasten on the British accents in Masterpiece Theatre and PBS's other imported programming (the dowdy costume dramas, lame sitcoms, and sleuth shows about crime-solving antique dealers and spinsters) as a seal of quality. Rock Anglophilia's constituency is a younger subset of the exact same demographic (college-educated upper middle class), and it's based around an identical syndrome: the equating of England with a superior level of refinement and literacy.”

What as a opposed to fat Americans, who gorge themselves on Kentucky Fried chicken leftovers and who feed there hormonally challenged brains with episodes of brain dead shit like the “Survivors,” and reruns of Beavis and Butthead? Country Music trailer trash constituency is a younger subset of the same exact demogrpahic (uneducated middle class Americans), and is based on an identical syndrome: whom think Republican Candidates like Mike Huckabee, or Giuliani are profound intellects. A country where the majority of the population thinks the world is no more then 6000 years. A country where more people believe in the devil then believe in the theory of evolution? A country that could care less for civil rights! Where the average person’s idea of literacy is reading “The Secret” by Rhonda Bryne.

Salon Shame on You

This article is farcical, not even the interviewer understands science to a adequate degree to even offer honest questions. When he say evolution is random. Give me a break. Does he even understand that concept of NATURAL SELECTION, and how it is far from random. Then John Haught, who is already beating a dead horse. If he had read Dawkins or any of the new atheists and UNDERSTOOD them, he would quit misrepresenting their views and creating straw men to attack. No intellectual integrity with this guy! Let's just make up stuff so we can feel all warm and fuzzy with our BULLSHIT! Then what about the Salon editors that choose to run this brain dead review. Fucking get an education about the facts. This interview is a fucking joke and an insult to any educated person that knows anything about atheism.

Original article: "We're all fascists now"

Idiocy

This guy is so idiotic I can refute him in two sentences.

"We stand for the maintenance of private property ... We shall protect free enterprise as the most expedient, or rather the sole possible economic order."

- Adolph Hitler

Who does this sound most like a liberal or a republican? DUH!

The Title of this Post Is What's Wrong With American, It's Corporatism !

I don't even have to read this article to tell you what is wrong with America. When I saw the title that's all I needed to know. Does Jeff Yang believe this is a country or a corporation (USA Inc?) That's whats wrong in this country, the special interests have control of the country not the people. A BRAND come on! I am not brand nor is this country. And until people like Yang get that, then this countries image will always be in the toilet. Just look at what we do to our country, we privatize the hell out of the military send in mercenaries Black Water, and Halliburton that aren't held accountable to any laws. Then we let them go around killing innocent civilians, and don't hold them accountable to any courts jurisdiction. Because guess what they are BRAND America, owned by private corporations! That is what is wrong with the country Yang. Until we start treating ourselves like a country and not a BRAND nothing is going to change!

Original article: Let's dump "Earth Day"

Joseph Romm is Morally Bankrupt

I respect other species on the planet Jim doesn't. What if I wanted to destroyed precious works of art because they didn't appeal to me? Would Jim be OK with that? Would I have a right to if their where other options? Their is difference between surviving because it's life and death, and surviving. For example you don't have to drive a SUV to survive. People can learn to live with less. What about this we should be living with less, because we respect other life? Like some art some species are irreplaceable, do I have a right to destroy them because it lowers my standard of living? Isn't it the height of hubris to assume that you know what everybody values, and get to make the decisions? What about animal rights, don't we have a responsibility to do as little harm to them as we can? How would you feel if an advanced alien raced invaded the earth, and said screw humans they get in the way of our survival? When you start acting believing like that in my opinion you are truly morally bankrupt!
