but have never commented until now. That's because I have to tell Mr. Mooser that he makes me laugh. I'm afraid I've been a little intimidated to wade into the subjects that are more important. But, here's a toe dipping into the water - some of you are funny. Fortunately, I have a good sense of humor and so after the first time I read an "Amity" post, I re-read it and understood that it was satire, so I can understand Ramon's getting "had". Mr. Celery took a time or two to get used to also.
I think my whole foot is now in the water, so I'll tell Mr. Greenwald that I really appreciate all the work he puts into this blog. I learn a lot every time from his posts and from many of you. Thanks!
if any of you would give this a read and post your thoughts.

Thanks.
for your comments at 4:57 and 5:43 (I think the times are accurate). It took me a little while to "understand" Mr. Celery, but once I took the time to read his posts I had a new respect (and affection) for him. So much so, that this perfect stranger sent him a get-well card during his hospital stay.
I agree with you, too, about the direction conversations sometimes take here. Very often it makes me laugh, especially when Cocktailhag wants you to slap him/her and call him/her something else.
I hate it when I'm a disappointment, particularly since "I" seem to have been loved :) But, alas, I am not the gpjones, SAS guru. But I am a really nice person and I think you might miss me if I wasn't here.
Thanks for the link to the I.F. Stone website. I'm looking forward to doing some reading there!
to my local paper (The Oregonian) for using the term "commander in chief" when they were referring to the Office of the President (in an answer to a reader's question). I included a reference to Garry Wills' book, "A Necessary Evil", p. 119, in case they needed clarification.
but I have to say I loves me some Cocktailhag and Derbig Mooser.
at 8:07am - read it then read it again with chills all over, and I'd like to second Timothy3's comment about you at 8:18am.
By the way, Timothy3, you're always a good read too! :)
Terrific job on Moyers! It's such a pleasure to listen to someone who can articulate his thoughts so well. Keep up the great work here too!
Thank you for your hard work on this blog. I read here every day and dearly love it. But what's more, you have some of the best regular commenters anywhere. Every day I read through all of the comments and am amazed at how intelligent your regular readers are (not the trolls, of course) and learn new things all the time.
As I said in my very first comment, I am too intimidated to post anything more than compliments. But I'm here every day, cheering from the sidelines!
I understood the point of your original comment.
By the way, thank you for remembering your agreement to Glenn and not rising to the bait another keeps throwing your way (but please don't fall into the same trap with Titonwan. It's really tedious.).
Best to you :)
this may be a "duh, no sh** Sherlock" question (and if so, please be kind ;)). But isn't POC/calamine/sparkly stars (something like that I saw one time in response to an I/P post) the same poster?
I've been reading this blog since about a year ago, and I always read your comments. You've suggested to others once or twice that they read your previous comments to find out what your ideas are. So I decided several days ago to do that. You have 160+ pages of comments, and I've only gotten up to page 30, so I still have a ways to go. :)
Even though I have not found any comments where you've made some clear outline of what you think we should do, I think that some actions you've mentioned presuppose a citizenry that we, by and large, no longer are, do they not? That is, do they not require a large population of citizens who are fearless (and I might even add adventurous and creative)?
how do you imagine things would be different/worse were McCain president? (I'm not being sarcastic or looking for an argument. Really curious to know how much different you imagine things to be.)
Kovie can chime in here, too, if he/she wishes.
Thanks!
Omooex asked you how things would have been different if we all had taken your advice and voted for McCain. I was genuinely curious to know how he envisions the difference. I was hoping for a more imaginative and thoughtful response than the one I got. ;)
what did it mean when Bush and the king exchanged kisses and held hands?
You are too funny.
Thank you, Omooex. I was thinking more like a lot of thick skulls.
