  • Discussing Romney's Religion

[Read the article: Mitt Romney's ominous verb]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The Republican candidates are all competing to win the "Who's Most Religious" crown. They have specifically made their faith part of the campaign, and there is no reason I can think of why Romney (or any of the others) shouldn't be questioned about their faith, and no reason why, if you don't like their particular faith, you shouldn't vote against them. It's their own fault.

  • Wright's accusations about AIDS

[Read the article: Rev. Jeremiah Wright isn't the problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Kamiya's claim that Wright's "assertion that the U.S. government spread AIDS in the black population is a caricature of paranoid black demagoguery" indicates that Kamiya is unfamiliar with the notorious Tuskegee sylphilis experiments in which 399 black men infected with sylphilis were left untreated for forty years so doctors could observe the course of the disease. Most of his article is right on the money, but it's arguable that blacks have good reason to be suspicious in this areas as well as in others.
